No, Coonhound. One's "whole being" is seldom or ever manifested by a single act or comment or by a whole series of them. For example, I don't like labels such as "pedophile," "rapist," or "criminal" to be used against people, because the conduct in which these individuals may have engaged and for which they are being labeled with these terms doesn't speak for and the labels don't capture their entire nature or essential being. They are far more than these acts they have committed.
But, again, I would say that when people posted very ugly comments here about what they wanted to see done to PG or wanted to do to him themselves, they weren't only expressing hatred toward what he did but also toward HIM for doing it. They were hating the "sinner" along with the "sin."

Have you read the early comments? If you could have gotten those who posted them together into a group and given them unrestricted access to PG and NG, do you REALLY think they wouldn't have "taken revenge" of a very violent and brutal nature? There's a particularly ugly image I have in mind of a famous photo of a Southern lynching of two black men. They were hanging dead from a tree while a bunch of people stood by looking self-righteous and proud of themselves. That's the image I had in mind when I saw a lot of the early comments here.

There is nothing comical about him being place in "general population."
However, it wouldnt bother me in the least if he ever is placed there.

First of all, I didn't say it was "wrong" to use any labels; I just said that I "don't like" them. I especially shy away from pejorative labels like "criminal." Yes, Coonhound, given the fact that you know very well what would likely happen to him in general population, I thi" toward him." Does it make you "sick" or "twisted"? I suppose it could be said that your sentiments are probably so prevalent and therefore "normal" that they don't qualify as sick. You know, JeffSees honestly reminds me of my 7 year old son.
When my 2 older boys want to play a serious game of Monopoly, they do not like for their baby brother to play, because he doesnt play right. He doesnt know how to play with the big boys. So since he cant join them, he tries to take the big boys down. He interrupts them by doing some very babyish things.
They sometimes try to allow him to join them, but still, he is just too immature to be serious yet. He does, however, sometimes sit and watch them and ask them questions, and talk with them about other things, just to spend quality time with his big bros, instead of fighting senselessly with them.

You started posting here bc it was a matter of great concern for you that people were posting "mailcious" and "disturbing" opinions about what should be the fate of PG/NG.
Now, I think its fair to speculate that first, most of the world didn't care to look at his blog. Second, most who did review his blog didn't leave a comment. Last, not all the comments posted were malicious and disturbing.
So, you are focusing in on a very small group of people that is not representative of the "whole" population.
Now, these people that left "twisted" remarks concerning how they feel about PG, what they wish for him and so on...how come your "determinism" isn't taken into account when you "judge" them? Or when you speculate on how and why they reacted towards PG?
I mean many of these people could have had a horrible experience in some way with somebody along the lines or similiar to PG. So, perhaps the PG story and his blog sparked an emotion in them that had to be released. And they chose to do so on PG's PUBLIC blog. Perhaps things happened in theirlives that CAUSED their posts and made them "bound" to occur. It is a healthy release, to post your feelings, rather than ACT them out.
Why are you SO critical of these people for posting their feelings about a man that did a heck of a lot more than just POST his feelings, needs, wants and desires?
How do you know that PG did not welcome such opinions in hopes that it would help prove that he really wasn't sane?
Perhaps this blog was part of his plan to prove that he is not sane enough for trial or was never a sane person.
I believe you when you say that he should be punished and completely removed from society.

I'm committed to improving the way I conduct myself here and everywhere. That's why I'm going to respond to your accusations without being derisive. A part of me enjoys verbal combat. It loves to get in that clever insulting retort or crush a deserving opponent with an overpowering argument. But that's not who I want to be or what I want to do anymore. The short term pleasure I get out of it is overridden by the long term animosity and divisiveness it causes. Life is too short to carry on that way, too precious to waste that way.
So, let me address your accusations straight on and in total earnest.
I did not hack Teresa's daughter's server. I have no desire to hack anyone's computer equipment, and I have no understanding whatsoever of how to do it even if I wanted to do it. I can't even fathom why you would accuse me of this unless I've become the devil incarnate in your mind and you therefore hold me responsible for every evil deed that befalls you or anyone you know. Again, I want to make it very clear that I did not do what you're accusing me of and that you therefore couldn't possibly have any evidence of me having done it. You are accusing me of a crime, and I have committed no crime. And you're right that it would be awfully stupid of me to do what you're accusing me of doing when I'd have to know that I'd be the first person you suspected of it and investigated for it. So, whatever "logs" you're talking about can't possibly implicate me for something I haven't done.
Second, I don't agree with you that my joking references to passing gas in my detractors' faces is even remotely close to what people have said here regarding what they'd like to happen to PG. Frankly, it's very difficult for me to believe that you could seriously mention them in the same breath. However, I will agree with you on one thing. What I said about flatulence has no proper place in the way I conduct myself, and I apologize for having said it. Funny you're talking about hocking and spitting loogies. I was just watching replays on the Rachel Maddow show of a Yankees relief pitcher doing it on what many opposing fans thought to be the baseball he was preparing to throw in yesterday's playoff game.

I was so hyperactive in my early grade school years that the teachers couldn't control me. Later I channeled most of that energy into sports, especially basketball, which is understandable for a guy who graduated 6th grade at 6'2" and entered 7th grade at 6'4". :-) In high school and college I was very much a loner very strongly interested in extracurricular philosophy and spirituality. I've definitely never been "in with the in crowd." :-)

Yes, I was very shy around strangers after I turned seven and my mom remarried. Prior to that, I was a raging extrovert. I remember going on a local kids TV show when I was six and grabbing the mike away from the other guest, a girl, when the host was talking to us on the air live. You couldn't get me to take the mike now. :-) Yes, I was an only child. My mother gave birth to me when she was fifteen. And, no, I wasn't an overachiever in school. I got good grades effortlessly in the courses I took, but I didn't take the most demanding of courses, especially in high school. Academics was not my thing. Basketball, bowling, "Star Trek," and extracurricular reading and writing were what I focused on.

Finding an impartial jury for this trial could be a hell on earth, too - it will be a tough job for both prosecution and defense.

MadOne, I agree with you that finding an "impartial" jury for the Garridos seems all but impossible, and defending them successfully, whatever that means in a case as seemingly cut-and-dried as this, would be a supreme challenge even for Clarence Darrow or Gerry Spence.
I imagine that the only defense the defense would try to employ would be an insanity defense or something close to it, and I can't imagine any jury being persuaded by it, unless it were a jury of MY peers, perhaps. :-)

I just had a back tooth extracted. It underwent a root canal years ago but still managed to develop and abscess recently. My dentist tells me that this happens eventually in up to 20% of root canals.
The extraction was not the most fun in the world, but it wasn't too bad. Assuming I don't develop complications, the worst part of it may be that I'll have a fair amount of pain and need to take antibiotics for a few days and not be able to eat rice for at least a week. Rice is the staple of our diet. :-( In fact, when a Thai person says, "Gin kow,' It loosely means, "Come eat." But it literally means, "Eat rice."

I have wisdom teeth, and my dentist told me something very interesting. She said that she's often seen them grow into places vacated by pulled teeth and that this could very well happen with me. I may end up with a new tooth. :-)

Detectives searching for a missing 7-year-old north Florida girl say they have found the body of a young girl in a Georgia landfill.
Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler said the body found Wednesday had not been identified but the parents of Somer Thompson have been notified. Somer vanished on her mile-long walk home from school Monday in Orange Park, near Jacksonville. She was squabbling with another child, and her sister told her to stop. The girl got upset, walked ahead of the group and wasn't
seen again.
Orange Park is a suburb of Jacksonville just south of Jacksonville Naval Air Station. The area where the girl disappeared is a heavily populated residential area.

Many people think that things like this happen to other people, maybe because they live in a big city, or the wrong area, and sometimes, people get too comfortable in their "peaceful" surroundings and their uneventful lives.
This morning my one son didnt want to miss the bus, so he was going to leave alone without his other brother. I normally take them to school, but sometimes it is not possible. I made my son wait, then drove them myself, making myself late.
And today they did not come home at the usual time. I drove straight to their school first. My friend on the phone was saying that I worry to much, those boys are grown. 12 and 13 years old. I do not care. I worry about my daughter to this day and she is 23 and a mother herself.

Hi Coonhound. Well, it was kinda like in the movies, where you go around the circle and each person says something like, "Hi. My name is Beverly, and I'm an alcoholic." And then everyone says, in chorus, "Hi Beverly." So that part lived up to expectations. :)
But as each person had their chance to talk (there were eleven of us), I found I wasn't so interested in their stories. They rambled on about whatever they wanted. Giving them my full attention (which I did) was quite the challenge.
But, one down, three more meetings to go.
