Brenda,
When does the free govt healthcare for 9/11 survivors expire?

I remember hearing of it in the news recently, but can't remember the cut-off date. I was pretty annoyed bc I felt that the deadline was too quick given the health issues of those people.

Not usually. Don't seem to watch much TV these days. I spend too much time on the computer, not just here, other forums too (grin)

From what I know its tons of types of cancer and a lot of lung issues period, respiratory failure, transplants from organ failure, ect.

I read this and I always reflect on the same thing each time I hear about treating cancer with radiation.

Radiation causes cancer, so why are they treating cancer with radiation?

Steve said...

Boogie, you point out an interesting paradox about radiation and cancer. It works to treat cancer because it kills the faster growing mutant cancer cells more readily than it does slower growing normal cells; yet, it also causes carcinogenic mutations in normal cells. Fortunately, the cancer killing effects of radiotherapy generally tend to outweigh its cancer causing ones, especially in the shorter term.

You too Boogie have fun reading and watching your movie.. Sleep well too when you are done and as always its been a pleasure :) i look forward to talking to you again soon.

* Provide ongoing medical care for 9/11 health conditions to approximately 15,000 additional WTC responders and 15,000 additional WTC community members, for a total of 55,000 responders and 17,500 community members.
* Require a matching contribution from the City of New York for the health program,
* Reopen the Victim Compensation Fund (VCF) to provide compensation for those sickened by 9/11 exposure and to address the over 10,000 pending lawsuits brought by sick 9/11 responders, and
* Limit the liability in litigation for New York City and the contractors to the amounts available under the Captive Insurance Fund and their existing liability limits and insurance.

Good morning, everyone. I trust that you all have seen the widely circulated photo of Jaycee Dugard as she appears today. She is a very pretty woman who looks years younger than her age and remarkably happy given what's she's been through. It's a striking testament to the strength of her spirit.

Furthermore, however much we may despise the actions of her captors, we can also be grateful that they didn't figuratively or literally destroy that amazing young woman. It has been reported that she and her daughters are doing very well, that her daughters are almost up to grade level education wise, and that Jaycee is greatly enjoying riding horses and other aspects of her new freedom.

Tis blessed news.

Steve said...

"After being held against her will for 18 years, much of it in a backyard hell straight out of a horror film, Jaycee Dugard wants the world to know:

"I'm so happy to be back with my family," she tells PEOPLE.

Now living in seclusion with her mom, Terry Probyn, 50, and the two daughters – Angel, 15, and Starlit, 11 – fathered by her alleged kidnapper, Phillip Garrido, Dugard, 29, has begun the slow process of recovery. She rides horses, cooks meals and is thinking of collaborating on a book.

"They live a surprisingly normal life, considering the circumstances," says Terry's stepmother, Joan Curry.

For much more on Jaycee Dugard's new life – including stunning photographs of her family, details of her reunion with the sister she hadn't seen since 1991 and her deepening bond with her mother – pick up the new issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday."
--From People.com

BrendaStar said...

There is no picture I am aware of that is real.

Steve said...

"The hair is darker, bordering on brown, but Jaycee Dugard’s clear blue eyes still sparkle in a face lit by a brilliant smile. Looking out from the cover of People magazine, the young woman who was kidnapped at the age of 11 appears to be 10 years younger than her 29 years.

“I’m so happy to be back,” reads the headline on the cover of the Oct. 26 issue, which hits newsstands this Friday. The cover photo of Jaycee, the first since she was rescued on Aug. 26, can be viewed now on People.com.

People first wrote about Jaycee in November 1991, five months after she was kidnapped outside her home in South Lake Tahoe, Calif., allegedly by convicted sex offender Phillip Garrido and his wife, Nancy. The Garridos were taken into custody after a campus cop at University of California at Berkeley thought something was suspicious about the man who was seeking a permit to hold a religious meeting on campus.

Dugard was not interviewed by the magazine, although people close to her spoke at length about her rehabilitation and that of her two daughters, Angel, 15, and Starlit, 11. Dugard and her daughters are recovering from their long ordeal at an undisclosed location in northern California; Jaycee’s mother, Terry Probyn, is with them.

The 10-page article is accompanied by many pictures of Dugard and her mother. Dugard’s daughters are shown only from the back.

TODAY’s Matt Lauer asked People’s managing editor, Larry Hackett, if the magazine paid for the photographs, which were taken by a private photographer engaged by the family.

“We have bought photographs in the past,” Hackett said, apparently confirming that the family was paid for the pictures. “I don’t want to go into the details.”

(Please see Part 2)

Steve said...

(Part 2)

‘She looks radiant’
Hackett said that Dugard and her mother decided to allow publication of the photos and to tell their story because of the intense interest.

“They thought, ‘We want to control this situation. Let’s do it now,’ ” Hackett told Lauer.

Hackett remarked on how well Dugard looks in the photos. “She looks radiant, she looks healthy, she looks happy,” he said. But, he added, the story in the magazine shows recovering from years of abuse will not be easy.

“As you read the story, you realize this is a long process, an extraordinary process of her trying to get her life back,” Hackett said. “It’s a long, slow process. Somebody likened it to an adoptive parent meeting their child. There’s 18 years of time to make up. I just don’t think she’s ready to answer a lot of questions involving a lot of things that have happened in her life.”

Erika Schulte, a family spokeswoman for Probyn and Dugard, also spoke with TODAY’s Ann Curry. She said the interview is the family’s way of thanking all the people who have sent messages of support.

“I have seen a family,” Schulte said. “If you didn’t know the circumstances, it would just seem like any other family. [They] are just very close and comfortable and happy.”

Prepared to testify
Both Schulte and Hackett said that Dugard is prepared to testify against Garrido and his wife when they are brought to trial.

A therapist is using horseback riding to help Dugard and her daughters cope with their years of captivity in a makeshift encampment behind Garrido’s home. “Jaycee loves animals,” Schulte told People.

“I’m so happy to be back with my family,” Dugard said in a statement to the magazine. “Nothing is more important than the unconditional love and support I have from them.”

Schulte said Dugard provided the photos to People because she wanted to “lift the veil and acknowledge that she is doing well. She wants to thank everyone for their support and best wishes and to let people see that this is her.”

‘This has been a miracle’
She is staying with her mother, a 50-year-old middle-school secretary, and her daughters. Schulte told People that despite never having gone to school, both Angel and Starlit have been tested and are performing at grade level. That, Schulte said, is a testament to Dugard, who educated her daughters despite not having gone to school beyond the fifth grade herself.

“This has been such a miracle — that Jaycee was able to do all that she’s done under those circumstances just tells us what a strong woman she is and how extremely intelligent she is,” Probyn’s stepmother, Joan Curry, told the magazine.

Schulte said the mother and daughters spend their time catching up, cooking and reading. “They’re not hiding,” Schulte told People. “They’re enjoying their privacy.”

I just read Eknath Eawaran's beautiful "Thought for the Day," and I'd like to share it with you all this fine morning:

October 14

All, everything that I understand, I understand only because I love.
– Leo Tolstoy

"There is nothing easy about learning to love. The real romantic must be very practical: it takes a lot of hard, unromantic work to sustain any human relationship. Naturally there are going to be differences between you and your partner. Identical twins have differences of opinion, so why should two people from, say, New York City and Paris, Texas, expect life together to be smooth sailing?

Even on the honeymoon there may be difficulties. You open Pandora’s box expecting a lot of doves and out come a couple of bats instead. You have to be ready to say, “The doves are there; they’re simply lying low. Why don’t we get to work and shoo away these bats?” Rather than dwelling on the negative, try to respect the potential in the other person and help him or her to realize that potential through your support. If you want a relationship to get deeper and deeper with the passage of time, you will go on strengthening it all your life."

BrendaStar: I do not believe the end of this story. I believe that what is causing disease in these people can be traced back to particular toxins and not just asbestos. (What was the name of the explosive that they think was used which melted that steel. I think maybe, researching that item might tell us whether it is linked to some of these cancers) I cannot seem to locate that on any of these videos fast enough:

9/11 Continues to Claim Victims among Rescue and Recovery Workers As Well As Children Born Near Ground Zero
Date Published: Monday, April 10th, 2006
AddThis Social Bookmark Button

The gaping hole in lower Manhattan where the World Trade Center (WTC) towers once stood is a grim reminder of that sunny September day in 2001 that shook the world. The physical scars, however, are not the only reminders of 9/11 that continue to haunt those who were caught in, or responded to, the terrorist attacks.

Only this week, stories appeared that told of several dozen bone fragments being found on the roof of a building near to Ground Zero and of clothing that still carried potentially lethal amounts of asbestos fibers.

Anonymous said...

Those stories, while disturbing, pale in comparison to the claims being made by thousands of rescue workers and other responders who believe the toxic cloud of airborne chemicals and solid particles that hung over the WTC site for weeks has killed and permanently injured many of them.

In January, we reported on the death of James Zadroga, a 34-year-old homicide detective who was believed to be the first New York City police officer to die from a respiratory disease caused by exposure to dust and toxic debris during his hundreds of hours of rescue and cleanup efforts at Ground Zero.

Shortly after that, the New York Daily News reported that 22 other relatively young men may also have died from respiratory-related illnesses caused or accelerated by their exposure to the same toxic environment while aiding in the post-9/11 cleanup.

Like Zadroga, most of the 22 men were only in their 30s and 40s. According to their families, they have died as a result of the deadly mixture of chemicals they were exposed to as they searched for survivors in the ruins of the World Trade Center or aided in the clean-up efforts in the days and weeks following the terrorist attack.

While the attack was immediately responsible for killing almost 3,000 innocent victims who were in and around the WTC, it now appears 9/11 has had, and will continue to have, far reaching effects on possibly thousands of other individuals who responded to the catastrophe that day and in the weeks that followed as part of the massive rescue, recovery, and cleanup efforts, without any regard to their own personal safety.

Many medical experts have already expressed serious concern that the first responders, rescue and recovery workers, volunteers of all kinds, and construction workers at the scene will inevitably suffer significant, if not fatal, health consequences as a result of their protracted exposure to all types of dust, debris, toxins, and other dangerous substances that polluted the WTC disaster site for several months following the collapse of the WTC buildings.

More than four years later Detective Zadroga, who devoted some 400 hours to searching for victims died of a respiratory disease that the Detectives̢۪ Endowment Association (DEA) believes was caused by his exposure to dust and debris at the disaster site

Zadroga developed black lung disease and mercury on the brain according to Michael Palladino, president of the DEA. For a month after the collapse of the towers, Zadroga worked up to 16 hours a day on rescue and recovery efforts.

Several months after 9/11, Zadroga developed shortness of breath and other respiratory problems and, as a result, he retired on disability insurance benefits in 2004.

Among the additional 22 who have died are private employees, a sanitation worker, a correction officer, a utility worker, transit workers, firefighters, and police officers. Some, like Zadroga, suffered from black lung disease, while others died from cancers of the esophagus and pancreas.

David Knecht, a Lucent Technologies employee, worked for two months to re-establish communications at businesses near Ground Zero. At 35 he was diagnosed with lung cancer and died in March 2005, leaving behind two girls, now ages 3 and 4.

His wife Cathleen Knecht, 38, of Berkeley Heights, N.J. said “He was a nonsmoker and a swimmer.”

Anonymous said...

Knecht was one of many who have claimed to have been sickened with debilitating and potentially deadly ailments related to their presence at the WTC site. Thousands are sick and suffering from respiratory illnesses. Nearly 400 firefighters and paramedics have left the job because of career-ending illnesses that followed their work at Ground Zero.

David Worry, the attorney for approximately 7,300 Ground Zero workers says that rescue and clean-up workers were not properly protected for the dangerous job they had to perform. “This was a toxic waste site. People should have been walking around in moon suits.”

He anticipates there will be many more deaths and illnesses from worker̢۪s exposure to deadly waste at Ground Zero. It is estimated that as many as 40,000 people worked at the site in the months after 9/11.

Worry̢۪s firm has filed a class-action lawsuit, which is pending in United States District Court in Manhattan. The suit alleges that government officials and construction contractors negligently exposed workers to dangerous levels of toxins at the cleanup site.

Presently, attorneys for the City of New York deny any direct medical link between exposure to debris and the respiratory illnesses and cancers. Doctors treating Ground Zero workers are also skeptical because cancers resulting from toxic exposure can take up to 15 to 20 years to develop.

They are disturbed, however, by the substantial number of young people who have died or become ill following similar exposure to the same environmental conditions.

“It’s still too early to say if WTC responders are at increased risk for cancer,” said Dr. Robin Herbert, director of the World Trade Center Health Effects Treatment Program at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. “But we remain very concerned.”

Anonymous said...

Another death involved Bob Shore, a city correction officer, who worked at the makeshift morgue at Ground Zero for at least two weeks, wearing only a paper mask. At the end of his first day handling body parts, Shore climbed into the shower fully dressed and cried for two hours.

Shore, a 53-year-old father of two died last August from pancreatic cancer. His doctor attributes his disease, which caused the once 300-pound bodybuilder to waste away to 110 pounds and to have his gallbladder, spleen and pancreas removed, to his work at Ground Zero.

Shore’s widow, like many families of 9/11 recovery and rescue workers, says she now faces the impossibility of paying the medical bills, as much $200,000 for all her husband’s treatments.

Nevertheless, Michelle Shore remembers her husband’s selfless contribution to the recovery efforts: “He never regretted doing it,” she said “He was my hero, the city’s hero.”

In addition to these concerns was, and still is, the impact on babies of mothers who were pregnant when the attacks occurred and who lived within two miles of the World TradeCenter.

As we reported only last month, the Columbia Center for Children̢۪s Environmental Health (CCCEH) at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health has been conducting an ongoing study called the World Trade Center Pregnancy Study. Other institutions, organizations, and independent researchers have also studied the actual and potential future effects the massive amounts of toxins that were released as a result of the fine particles of pulverized building materials and the fires that incinerated the debris thereby releasing any number of cancer-causing chemicals into the air. (

A number of articles were published between August 2003 and late 2004 that documented the fact that babies born to mothers who were pregnant when the attacks occurred and who were in or near the collapsing towers or who lived in close proximity to the site were smaller and had lower birth weights.

On August 5, 2003, the Associated Press reported that:

â€Å“Exposed pregnant women in the study faced double the risk of delivering babies who were up to about a half-pound smaller than babies born to non-exposed women.

The size differences among babies born to women exposed to dirt and soot from the attacks suggest a condition called intrauterine growth restriction, or IUGR, which has been linked with exposure to air pollution.

Previous research also has found that babies affected by IUGR may be at increased risk for heart disease, hypertension and other health problems in adulthood, said Dr. Philip Landrigan, chairman of Mount Sinai School of Medicine’s community and preventive medicine department, and one of the researchers.

While duration of the exposure was relatively short, ̢۪the intensity of exposure to soot and dust was extraordinarily high,̢۪ Landrigan said.

The CCCEH study has published extensive amounts of information on the subject including the following:

The destruction of the World Trade Center (WTC) on September 11, 2001 was an unprecedented environmental disaster, with enduring effects on the physical and psychological well-being of a nation. In lower Manhattan, the event released large amounts of dust and toxic pollutants into the air, including fine particulate matter derived from the burning of materials during the explosion and fires, construction debris, and asbestos. These exposures are known to be especially toxic to the vulnerable populations of pregnant women and their unborn infants, and have been linked to reduced fetal growth and subsequent neurodevelopmental problems. Widespread psychological distress could also affect birth outcomes and subsequent child functioning.

The Center̢۪s study, launched in December 2001, is assessing the effects of prenatal exposure to contaminants released by the WTC destruction on gestational age, birth size, respiratory health, and neurocognitive development in 300 women who had term pregnancies. Thus far, study results show that babies born to women who were pregnant on 9/11 and lived near the WTC in the weeks after 9/11 were born lighter and shorter than were babies born to women living further away. Previous research shows that even small reductions in birth weight may lead to learning and behavioral problems.

The Center̢۪s WTC Pregnancy Study is the only one of its kind to compare women with known exposure levels living and working close to the WTC site to a control group living and working further away from the site. The study is also unique in that pregnant women were enrolled prior to delivery, thereby eliminating participation bias that could arise from already knowing the outcome of their pregnancy.

What causes intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR)?

Intrauterine growth restriction results when a problem or abnormality prevents cells and tissues from growing or causes cells to decrease in size. This may occur when the fetus does not receive the necessary nutrients and oxygen needed for growth and development of organs and tissues, or because of infection. Although some babies are small because of genetics (their parents are small), most IUGR is due to other causes. Some factors that may contribute to IUGR include the following:

* Maternal factors:

o high blood pressure
o chronic kidney disease
o advanced diabetes
o heart or respiratory disease
o malnutrition, anemia
o infection
o substance abuse (alcohol, drugs)
o cigarette smoking

* Factors involving the uterus and placenta:

o decreased blood flow in the uterus and placenta
o placental abruption (placenta detaches from the uterus)
o placenta previa (placenta attaches low in the uterus)
o infection in the tissues around the fetus

* Factors related to the developing baby (fetus):

o multiple gestation (twins, triplets, etc.)
o infection
o birth defects
o chromosomal abnormality

Why is intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) a concern?

IUGR can begin at any time in pregnancy. Early-onset IUGR is often due to chromosomal abnormalities, maternal disease, or severe problems with the placenta. Late-onset growth restriction (after 32 weeks) is usually related to other problems.

With IUGR, the growth of the baby's overall body and organs are limited, and tissue and organ cells may not grow as large or as numerous. When there is not enough blood flow through the placenta, the fetus may only receive low amounts of oxygen. This can cause the fetal heart rate to decrease placing the baby at great risk.

Babies with IUGR may have problems at birth including:

* decreased oxygen levels

* low Apgar scores (an assessment that helps identify babies with difficulty adapting after delivery)

* meconium aspiration (inhalation of the first stools passed in utero), which can lead to difficulty breathing

* hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)

* difficulty maintaining normal body temperature

* polycythemia (too many red blood cells)

Severe IUGR may result in stillbirth. It may also lead to long-term growth problems in babies and children.

"But nag, I still have evil thoughts about her captors. I really do want them in the "general population" of prison. There's just not much compassion there from me towards them."

Coonhound, is this something that even the best and most Christian part of you wants, or is it what the basest part of you and all of us wants?

I agree with Walt Whitman when he said, "I am a multitude." That is, we are not monolithic entities but a collection of interacting sub-selves with often conflicting thoughts and desires.

There's a part of me that wants what you want for Philip and Nancy Garrido (just as it wants for Boogie what she appears to want for me). But there is another part of me, call it philosophical, ethical, or even spiritual that truly believes that the Garridos had to do what they did given who they were when they did it, that it is morally wrong to blame, despise, and inflict needless pain on someone for doing what they had to do, and that no overridingly good purpose would be served by what you say you want to see happen to them.

Since they know that Multiple Myeloma is caused by chemical changes to DNA, I do believe the government does know a lot more about what was on those planes when they crashed into the Towers.

Do you have any information on any CIA or FBI public informers siting such information that I can look at?

Anonymous said...

Do We Know What Causes Multiple Myeloma?

Scientists still do not know exactly what causes most cases of multiple myeloma. However, they have made progress in understanding how certain changes in DNA can cause plasma cells to become cancerous. DNA is the chemical that carries the instructions for nearly everything our cells do. Some genes (parts of our DNA) contain instructions for controlling when our cells grow and divide. Certain genes that promote cell division are called oncogenes. Others that slow down cell division or cause cells to die at the appropriate time are called tumor suppressor genes. Cancers can be caused by mistakes, or defects, in the DNA called mutations that turn on oncogenes or turn off tumor suppressor genes.

Recent studies have found that abnormalities of some oncogenes (such as c-myc) develop early in the course of plasma cell tumors. Changes in other oncogenes (such as N-ras and K-ra) are more often found in myeloma after bone marrow relapse, and changes in tumor suppressor genes (such as p53) are associated with spread to other organs.

Anonymous said...

Myeloma cells also show abnormalities in their chromosomes. Normal human cells contain 46 chromosomes--pieces of DNA and protein that control cell growth and metabolism. One fairly common finding in myeloma cells is that parts of chromosome number 13 are missing. These deletions appear to make the myeloma more aggressive and resistant to treatment.

About half of all people with myeloma have abnormally translocated chromosomes in their myeloma cells. This means that a part of one chromosome has switched with part of another chromosome. This often occurs in a crucial area next to an oncogene, which causes it to be turned on.

Researchers have found that patients with plasma cell tumors have important abnormalities in other bone marrow cells and that these abnormalities may also cause excess plasma cell growth. Certain cells in the bone marrow called dendritic cells release a hormone called interleukin-6 (IL-6), which stimulates normal plasma cells to grow. Excess IL-6 production by these cells appears to be an important factor in development of plasma cell tumors.

BrendaStar. I also believe that this is why they may have blown all the buildings. If so, I still do not condone what they did. Not telling the public what they had the foresight of, while they wired the buildings. Allowing the public no knowledge and letting them go to work each day. Not having the air force at hand at every second.

But then I think. If they knew there was going to be chemical weapons on those planes, how could they just shoot it down and land all over while it floats to the ground everywhere from so high up.

This is no way is an excuse, but an understanding of why sometimes the Government does need to keep things to themselves.

But leaving the people in this way, and then leaving them behind to struggle with their illnesses and not recognizing this to the public is so unnecessary if this is the case.

I keep thinking of all the reasons they would not want to panic the public. But you know, the public can help defend ourselves too.

You know, when some started discussing 9/11 conspiracy theory stuff here, I just turned a bemusedly deaf ear toward it. But as it kept on and kept on, I interjected a short and simple comment to the effect that those who advocate or give any credence to such theories might want to be very careful about getting too caught up in them without at least being sure to look deeply into ALL sides of the issue.

By the ensuing reaction, you would have thought that I had committed one of the crimes of the century--this one and the past one. :-) And the conspiracy talk, although it was more copy and paste jobs like we've seen here from Boogie today than actual substantive discussion, continued on and grew and grew.

So, I said a few more cautionary words about being circumspect with all this stuff, I was more and more stridently excoriated for it, and things escalated from there to something of a climax the other day.

Well, I've sincerely apologized for leveling any personal insults at anyone as opposed to staying focused on the issues themselves, but I would like to make a recommendation for those who think these theories are worth investigating further. Some here have accused some of us of "distorting" or otherwise misrepresenting religion in general and Christianity in particular when we talk about a properly religious, spiritual, or Christian response to the Philip Garridos of the world. I must admit that I remain perplexed by this.

It seems that these detractors would have us believe, although they never explain why, that Jesus and all religions and spiritual paths would have us hate people llke Garrido and gleefully condemn them to earthly and everlasting torture rather than seek to feel at least a trace of compassion and forgiveness toward them and see them ultimately redeemed.

And these same detractors would have us believe that those who advocate the latter are as evil as those for whom they plead compassion, while those who advocate hatred and want to see people like Garrido tormented and tortured for the rest of their lives on earth and forever in hell are lily white in their saintly purity.

I just don't get it? Do YOU?

I would be acting hypocritically if I said that everyone should thoroughly investigate all sides of the issue before they even decide whether the issue even merits an investigation and then not do it myself. But I am NOT saying that.

I am saying that IF you think the issue merits an investigation--that is, if you think it's quite possible that our government knowingly participated in the 9/11 attacks and killed thousands of people and exposed thousands more to its aftermath, and destroyed billions of dollars worth of property so that they could have an excuse to fuel the war machine against Saddam Hussein and other "boogeymen" out there, and they could cover this up over all these years--then make sure you don't just take Brenda's word and sources for it, but investigate the best of opposing arguments and evidence too.

Analysis Of White House
Obstruction Of
911 Investigations
By Joel Skousen
jskousen@qwest.net
World Affairs Brief
5-10-3

The Bush administration, the CIA, and the FBI are all refusing to cooperate with Congress as the latter tries to release for publication its 900-page report on the 9/11 terror attack on the WTC. The report contains numerous critical comments about administration and intelligence agency mishandling of forewarnings received by agents in the field-including a warning from an FBI agent that al-Qaeda supporters might be training in US flight schools. This story, and many others that are even more damaging, has already been leaked to the public either by establishment sources or by internet news sources-and yet the administration is adamant that these same stories must remain classified and not be released as part of the report. Obviously, the administration doesnât want these reports to benefit from the increased credibility that a mention in a Congressional report would endow.

This particular Congressional report is unrelated to the independent 9/11 Commission [http://www.9-11commission.gov/] that was so slow in getting underway, and will be even slower at answering the questions presented by representatives of the victimsâ families [http://www.911commission.org/]. Given the less than comprehensive scope of the questions posed to the commission, as well as the establishment make-up of the commissionâs panel members, I donât expect anything revealing regarding government foreknowledge, failure to respond, and cover-up of suspicious activities to come out of its investigation. Even this commission is being stonewalled by the Bush administration. Newsweek magazine has reported that, "President Bushâs chief lawyer has privately signaled that the White House may seek to invoke executive privilege over key documents relating to the attacks in order to keep them out of the hands of investigators for the National Commission on Terror Attacks Upon the United States-the independent panel created by Congress to probe all aspects of 9-11."

The members of the commission have all had to get security clearances to be on the panel. After the government delayed issuing the clearances for months, members are still not being given full access. As Newsweek reported, "Just two weeks ago, one commission member, Tim Roemer, a former Democratic congressman from Indiana, had sought to read transcripts of three days of closed hearings that had been held last fall by the House and Senate Intelligence Committees-hearings that Roemer, as a member of the House panel, had actually participated in. But when Roemer went down to a carefully guarded room on Capitol Hill to read the classified transcripts-he says to refresh his memory-he was stunned to learn that he couldnât have access to them. The reason, relayed by a congressional staffer, was that·administration lawyers [must] first review them to determine if the transcripts contained testimony about ÃŽprivilegedâ material." Obviously, the White House is trying to suppress something.

A couple of the victims' representatives did ask some crucial questions, such as why official Defense protocols were not followed, and why the NY Port Authority delayed evacuation of the second tower, but they failed to ask any of the really tough questions that point to government collusion and provocation:

BrendaStar said...

Boogie,

Continued:

* Why has the government refused to make public the recorded pilotsâ conversations with Air Traffic Control, notifying them of a hijacking in progress? We know these conversations took place because the FAA has confirmed having reported the hijackings to NORAD within minutes of their commencement.

* Why has the government denied having intercepted Flight 93 over Pennsylvania with 2 F-16s, despite the voluminous evidence that the airliner was shot down and shadowed to its crash by an unmarked jet leased to the government?

* Why were most military tower operators in the area told to ground all flights from taking off, including fighter interceptors?

* How and why were the reported cell phone calls from passengers on the hijacked airliners faked? Recent tests have shown that cell phones at high altitudes do not communicate with antenna towers on the ground. Almost all cellular and PCS systems utilize antennas which are only oriented for horizontal reception--not vertical.

* How did the US so quickly develop complete profiles and dossiers on all the supposed hijackers, including their night club activities, if these individuals were not previously being tracked by government agents? There is also the question of the long trail of incriminating letters, passports and flight manuals supposedly left behind by the hijackers at the airport or, in the case of the intact passport, miraculously recovered in the WTC debris.

BrendaStar said...

Boogie,

* Why has the government never amended the list of alleged hijackers given that eight of these names belong to people still living? The government has never given a rational explanation for why hijackers would use their real names in any case.

* Why were the alleged hijackers whose names were on terror watch lists given visas, without the proper documentation normally required?

* What is the relationship between Huffman Aviation (the Venice, FL company that trained two of the hijackers) and the CIA, which leases space in Huffmanâs hangar through a front company?

* Why did the hijackers who could barely speak English attempt (unsuccessfully) to take flying lessons for small planes when there was an Arab-speaking flight school for major aircraft in Fort Worth, Texas? [They were covering for training on major aircraft received elsewhere.]

* Why did certain investors know to short the stocks of American airline companies prior to 9/11? Along the same lines, why has the government never attempted to subpoena Wall Street computer records to find out who these "lucky" investors were?

* Why have the testimonies of New York firefighters who heard bomb-like explosions in the towers during the evacuation process been suppressed?

The evidence of internal explosives being associated with the bringing down of the two buildings has been compelling, yet frustrating given its often amateurish assumptions. (One of these is that burning jet fuel would have had to melt the steel structures in order to precipitate the collapse-which is false. The heat need only have been sufficient to soften the metal beams and trusses, causing them to sag and fail). Claims concerning evidence of planted charges on all floors, leading to a controlled collapse of the WTC buildings, have never been credible to me (such a scheme is too complex, involving hundreds of small charges). However, there is new evidence that charges at the bases of the towersâ 47 central steel columns could have precipitated the controlled vertical collapse of the buildings, and still have been consistent with the legitimate failure of the upper floor trusses reacting to the sudden collapse of central support. One crew of first responders into the first tower were shocked to see that the lobby on the main floor appeared to have been the object of an explosive blast-yet no signs of fire. On 9/11, two ABC reporters were filmed running away from the towers after seeing and hearing a ground floor explosion just prior to the collapse of the towers. There have also been reports of pools of molten metal at the base of these columns observed during debris removal. It is suspicious that the government threatened fire fighters who had heard other explosions to keep silent, and also that they ordered the tower debris removed so quickly, precluding complete forensic testing of the failed structure. The same thing happened after the Oklahoma bombing, where there was also irrefutable evidence of multiple charges and explosions.

Swine Flu Shot Propaganda Goes Into Overdrive

Despite the fact that the H1N1 virus has proven far less deadly than regular seasonal flu

Swine Flu Shot Propaganda Goes Into Overdrive 141009top

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet.com
Wednesday, October 14, 2009

The establishment’s propaganda drive to convince everyone to take the swine flu shot has gone into overdrive, surpassing any previous effort in the domain of public health and stoking suspicions about the motivations of pharmaceutical giants, especially in light of the fact that the H1N1 virus is far less deadly than the regular seasonal flu.

Governments have temporarily backed away from their plans to mandate the shot, but this hasn’t stopped the juggernaut of a mass media brainwashing campaign that is brow-beating reluctant citizens to take the vaccine even in the absence of the widely promised deadlier second wave of the swine flu virus.

Everywhere you look, the corporate media is over spilling with big pharma mouthpieces endlessly regurgitating the refrain that the idiot public should shut up, stop asking difficult questions about mercury, squalene and other additives, and just ‘take the damn vaccine’.

The latest example came in the form of Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano’s appearance the The Daily Show the other night, during which she and host Jon Stewart took a sideswipe at people who were concerned about the vaccine by portraying them as paranoid and mentally unstable.

Such desperation is only serving to raise more eyebrows amongst the general public, who unlike the corporate networks still retain a memory of what happened during the last mass swine flu vaccination campaign, when the injection killed more people than the virus itself.

Such fevered insistence that everyone take the shot simply does not correlate with the fact that swine flu has proven far less deadly than regular seasonal flu.

Denis Coulombier, who heads the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control’s preparedness and response unit, told AFP “that A(H1N1) killed a very small proportion of those who caught it, at about 0.2-0.3 deaths per thousand — a lower rate than seasonal flu, which kills around one patient per thousand.”

BrendaStar said...

cont.

Despite record cold temperatures around the world over the last month, the promised second wave of swine flu has not yet appeared, but Coulombier still all but guarantees another explosion of infections “in the coming weeks”.

(ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW)

Swine Flu Shot Propaganda Goes Into Overdrive 260909banner

The mammoth level of fearmongering that has been whipped up around swine flu despite its relatively benign threat has of course, I’m sure, nothing whatsoever to do with the fact that pharmaceutical giants are reaping vast dividends in profits from vaccine production during what would otherwise have been a struggle amidst an economic recession.

Sarcasm aside, the desperation of the establishment expresses itself in no more a revealing way than claims that the efforts of the “anti-vaccine lobby” are responsible for the outcome of polls that show a huge number of people will reject the shot, as if the “anti-vaccine lobby,” whatever that is, has one iota of the influence, or indeed the malevolence, enjoyed by the pharmaceutical lobby, an industry that has no less than 1,274 registered lobbyists in Washington D.C. alone and spent around $900 million on lobbying between 1998 and 2005, more than any other industry. Big pharma lobbied on at least 1,600 pieces of legislation between 1998 and 2004.

In an article for the London Evening Standard entitled, Stop being so selfish and get the swine flu vaccine, a smug-looking celebrity doctor blames the “anti-vaccine lobby” for creating doubt surrounding the vaccine by pointing out that its production was rushed and that it bypassed routine safety procedures. In reality, such concerns were not first expressed by the “anti-vaccine lobby,” but were reported prominently by the London Times on July 13.

The real story here is the fact that the “anti-vaccine lobby,” which consists of a relative handful of doctors and health professionals in comparison with big pharma, has had such an impact in convincing so many people to reject the swine flu shot, even in the face of such a huge effort on behalf of the pharmaceutical industry and their soapbox, the mass media, to convince them otherwise.

c'mon now thats unfair again I am not mad at Denise for not agreeing with me or Coonhound or others.. thats is just NOT TRUE and I have stated that aslo several times.. I am not upset that people DO NOT agree with me, all I have asked is that you research it and ask questions thats it...

what is irritating about you is that you give all this nice advice yet it is something you havent even looked into yet the opposing side.. and that is what others are pointing out to you also...

now in regards to Samantha she came in briefly said like one thing then you accosted her! you then tried to rally people against her and then threatened to banish her then you came back later and re read your own words and you apologized to her yourself.. so i think that proves that she was being treated unfairly and you know it.. you were attacking her and she said one thing to you to try to get you to stop and has not returned...and you have continued to bring her up since and she is not even here to defend herself.. but I am..

if you feel you did not act inappropriately then why give a supposed sincere apology later????

ask yourself these things nag.

Steve said...

Coonhound, what opinions have I expressed here about the Garridos, 9/11 conspiracy theories, religion, healthcare, or anything else that you disagree with, and WHY do you disagree with them?

Steve said...

"You lost her respect bc of how condescending(?sp) you had treated her.

Don't you get that?"

What I "get" is that she has a very "selective" view of who deserves her "respect."

Coonhound said...

nag,

Just as every humanbeing has their own stumbling block, so do you.

Selective, meaning, she chooses friendliness and commonality over and above your hateful sarcasm.

And why do you find this abnormal to the point you criticize her for this?

BrendaStar said...

Nag are yo talking about me or Samantha which one?

and I do not have a limited view of who gets my respect i give respect when respect is given to me :)

Coonhound said...

No she doesn't nag.

You are very talented with words and you slammed her with them very hard.

Nag and Jeff has asked you several questions that you keep evading..

BrendaStar said...

hmmmmmmmmmm disappearing act????

Steve said...

"what is irritating about you is that you give all this nice advice yet it is something you havent even looked into yet the opposing side.. and that is what others are pointing out to you also..."

Brenda, did the point of my previous post elude you. The "advice" I gave was that if anyone thinks these theories you've been espousing are worth looking into, they should look very closely at both sides. I did not fail to take my own advice, because I didn't think your theories were worth looking into in the first place, and I explained why. Now we can disagree on whether the reasons I gave are good ones, and we have disagreed on that. Nothing wrong with that. But to be falsely called a "hypocrite" who doesn't care about the world because I allegedly don't take my own advice IS wrong.

And, by the way, did you check out those websites I linked to today? How thoroughly and open-mindedly have YOU, who clearly believe that this IS a matter worth investigating--examined the other side's evidence and arguments?

Coonhound said...

It would be very nice if JeffSees could SEE his way to the Log out button.

Talented with words?

Educated with the dictionary certainly, but certainly not talented in putting them together with true meaning. Where are the truth in his WORDS. There needs to be a basis to form opinion. Where is this basis for his "dictionaried" WORDS.

I see none. He does not have that. He answers questions with questions because he has no information or fact behind his WORDS. There is no talent here!

If you are remotely interested in our rights to "freedom of speech" and "cover-ups" that are happening all the time, try googling "carter ruck" to see exactly what has been happening in the UK over the past couple of days and is now being mentioned in the USA press too.

BrendaStar said...

Nagarjuna,

Ive already looked at your opposing ideas and given you that respect you have lacked to give me the same in return and you state it again so ignorantly:

"I did not fail to take my own advice, because I didn't think your theories were worth looking into in the first place"

how is this taking your own advice???? The mere fact you can not even SEE the hypocrisy in your own words shows me you are disillusioned on some level..

Steve said...

"now in regards to Samantha she came in briefly said like one thing"

How "selective" your vision is, Brenda. Below is the "one thing" Samantha said to which I responded the way I did. And I urge you to go back to that page and look at how he discussion was going when Samantha let loose with her diatribe.

"Oh for Pete's sake!!!! I couldn't believe how low it had gotten when they told me about this. Believe me, you will have many more officers watching over this site than are already from here on in.

Denise, I will forever have to pray to God that I can look past the stupidity of women when I encounter a rape victim now. How dare you! You met this guy on a blog and can form opinions like this and share such opinions with the public! Obviously he is of questionable nature, and you young lady are now also. Of course the Internet is the first place a pedophile looks for victims. Enticing them into conversation. They do have domineering, authoritative attitudes. What a little game player you are. I meet your kind every day. Maybe I will not have dig so deep for understanding of women afterall when I realize this.

This is exactly why Nancy Garrido should not be given any breaks at all. She met this guy in prison. She knew the possibilities, yet she was so lonely, she was able to overlook it all and do whatever it took to get her man.

Everybody, you do need to be very careful when you talk to complete strangers on the internet... whether in a chat room, in a blog, on the internet anywhere. Of course a rapist or pedophile is not going to tell you what they are doing. Please be careful.

BrendaStar, Boogie and YouAresuchaFreak told me you had been looking for me, and wanted to chat. When this crap stops, I will be back to discuss the case, and have more pleasurable conversation with you, but until then, there are enough people watching over the ridiculousness of these trouble makers, and I personally see enough crap that I do not need to deal with idiots like this. I appreciate all the kind words and I look forward to coming back to visit one day soon, but this is my off time, and I intend to have meaningful conversations rather than deal with more street scum like these two individuals."

And one more thing on the Samantha incident of the other night, Brenda. If you're referring to the "apology" below, I didn't make it. That came from an impostor who, I suspect, is posting under another ID now.

Samantha with all due respect and civility, please accept my most humble apologies. I sit here for over an hour trying to put my thoughts together with this and I cannot put into words how ashamed I am when I read what a partook in tonight. I am lost for words at the moment. I hope you can believe that. I am truly sorry.

I C. So then Nagarjuna, did you ever ask yourself what was happening in the blog that Samantha was referring to before coming in.

Were you not acting out a 3rd personality that day. Does it need to be copied and pasted?

Does your apology to her for comments you made after her post need to be pasted.

Where are your WORDS.

BrendaStar said...

Nagarjuna,

an imposter.. hmmm that certainly sounded like it was you Nag. thats weird who would have that kind of time and energy?

oh my, conspiracy theories. Nagarjuna, I thought you denounced those.

Brenda, I patiently explained very clearly a few posts back how I was not being hypocritical. I explained it again a few posts after that. If you can't comprehend my explanation, that's YOUR problem.

BrendaStar said...

Nag,

Thats another demeaning statement to me.. I could comprehend it if you actually gave me information to comprehend but you dont.. you didnt explain anything except that:

this is all you have explained thats it!!! over and over again no reason why but thats it. Not much to comprehend there

Coonhound said...

Nag

By all means please slap him!

Steve said...

"My point is this...

Just as every humanbeing has their own stumbling block, so do you."

Coonhound, I would be the last person on earth to disagree with you on this. I have more "stumbling blocks" than I can count on all my fingers and all my toes put together. And if you multiplied that total by itself, it probably wouldn't even come close to all the "stumbling blocks" I have. :-)

That being said, what opinions have I expressed here that you disagree with, and why?

BrendaStar said...

i think Jeff has good points and I am not understanding why he is being asked to leave when he asks basically the same things that I do.

Do you also give respect to those who give respect to you but who heap disrespect on others to the egregious point of falsely accusing them of being a pedophile whom they hate and would love to handcuff and castrate? Is THAT person worthy of your respect just because she gives you respect?

Anonymous said...

Vicious Vicious Coonhound. I am scared. Have I not proved time and time again, his WORDS, are nothing less than WORDS.

Let him slap away, we have more to study this way. Waste of breath and finger exercise, but a learning exercise most certainly.

Nagarjuna,

I am not going to give you the satisfaction of an answer to that from me as I have already stated my response to this accusation several times and I feel no need to defend myself on this any further!

Oh my, the tearing down of others decisions in life again.

How many times are you going to try to control who likes who and for what reasons they like and or enjoy their company and conversation?

Steve said...

"you slammed her with them very hard."

Yes, I did, Coonhound. And I apologized for the very personal insults, pledged not to do it again, and I've been true to my word. Some would suggest that I haven't been. They suggest that my comments here today are equivalent. I say, "Balderdash!"

"I am not going to give you the satisfaction of an answer to that"

Of course you won't, Brenda, because you don't have a decent answer. Anyone who repeatedly and falsely calls someone else here a pedophile, says she hates him and wants to handcuff and castrate him, falsely says she has evidence she's working on to prove it but never produces any when challenged, falsely accuses him of trolling for victims under multiple ID's, and fails to retract her false accusations and apologize for them DESERVES your respect and fawning attention?

By the way, did you read my reposting of Samatha's little outburst the other night, the lovely, innocent little Samantha delicately popping in to say sweet things to her friends only to have the big, bad Nagarjuna jump all over her for no reason whatsoever? :-)

Steve said...

"If you are remotely interested in our rights to "freedom of speech" and "cover-ups" that are happening all the time, try googling "carter ruck"

I'll do that, Tara.

Anonymous said...

more ignorance to what brought Samantha to this blog to post, and more ignorance to the apologies made for his actions.

Anonymous said...

Nagarjuna, you are once again trying to promote ideas into the mind of others by not copying a complete quote:

"I am not going to give you the satisfaction of an answer to that"

If you truly did not want to put a spin and redirect meaning on Brenda's post, you would have posted Brenda's entire post and there would be no need for a response at all. What Brenda said was:

I am not going to give you the satisfaction of an answer to that ...from me as "I have already stated my response" to this accusation several times and I feel no need to defend myself on this any further!

Again, you had a reason from Brenda, but you tried to diminish its value.

Why can you not understand you have a control problem?

Steve said...

Again, Brenda, if you want to see Samantha's diatribe and my response in the context of what was taking place here that night before she surfaced, and what took place afterward, go check it out. And remember that the so-called "apologies," one of which I reposted earlier and another that I didn't, that came later that night were NOT mine. They were those of an impostor Nagarjuna who, again, I suspect is among us as we speak.

Did I later, long after the incident, offer a hand of reconciliaton? Yes. Long after.

More dissalusionement

fawning attention? give me a break because I like to talk to Boogie and you dont now I give her Fawning attention well I guess that I fawn over Coonhound, and I fawn over Tara, and I fawn over Freak, and Samantha, and Denise, and Jeff and I fawn over everyone.. maybe im a fawning person... hey man i got a lot of love to give and they want to receive it.. so I say right on..they want to talk to me and have intellectual conversations and i think that is wonderful they dont berate me and say what I am saying is pointless and has no meaning.. or is not worth even looking up they dont attack me and even if they disagree they write things as to why they disagree and why they feel the way they do and that makes sense to me because they actually have an explanation to why they feel that way. They dont have a bunch of accuses unlike yourself.

even others have pointed out to you that I am not to blame for this pedophile thing and to quite getting pissed at me for it and frankly now I feel that I should not have stuck up for you as much as I have about that subject because A. you dont appreciate it, and B. now your attacking me for sticking up for you. How lame is that? youve been told by others to get off my butt about that for good reason too and you dont.. yet your holding true to your word and you apology, see your apologies dont mean anything as they are not sincere. I told you this many times Nag but you will never dictate who I decide I would like to talk to and who I dont... I decide that.. and if you want to act like a child and try to get people on your side and take side thats all you, I will have NO PART in that kind of activity as I stopped doing that my freshman year in highscool.

What's a soapbox and what does that mean?

Lol...I've been meaning to ask you about that:)

Steve said...

Brenda, did you read Samantha's sweet little "one thing" from Monday night? Are you prepared to be fair and admit that you misrepresented what happened that night?

Steve said...

Brenda, you claim that my apologies aren't sincere. Please explain.

Anonymous said...

I believe she has answered that question, yet you keep asking.

Does this sound like brainwashing to you. Is this how people become brainwashed. Repeat, Repeat, Repeat, Repeat

BrendaStar said...

Coonhound,

LOL here is the definition:

"soapbox"

A soapbox is a raised platform on which one stands to make an impromptu speech.

The term is also used metaphorically to describe a person engaging in often flamboyant impromptu or unofficial public speaking, as in the phrases "He's on his soapbox", or "Get off your soapbox."

Hyde Park, London is known for its Sunday soapbox orators, who have assembled at Speakers' Corner since 1872 to discuss religion, politics, and other topics. A modern form of the soapbox is a blog: a website on which a user publishes one's thoughts to whoever reads the page.

Steve said...

Brenda, lest you may think that you've already answered my question of what apology I was "insincere" about, could you tell us what you think I was apologizing for the other day, and what I have specifically done since then which proves that that apology was insincere?

The let me attract you into more useless conversation so that I can berate your feelings and words further tactic.

Brenda--

As is regrettably often the case, you miss the point entirely. I am NOT criticizing you for not sticking up for me more. I am calling into question what you say about respect. You say you respect people who respect you, and disrespect people who disrespect you. And I asked, Do you respect people who disrespect others the way some here have? In other words, is it ONLY about YOU? Those who respect you have earned your respect even when they figuratively defecate on others repeatedly and never apologize, whereas when somebody disrespects you and then apologizes for it and lives up to his pledge not to do it again, he doesn't deserve your respect?

Are you saying I'm lying, Brenda? Click on the username link and see if my profile pops up. Of course, that doesn't prove it wasn't me, but it should give you pause when you consider that virtually all of the other posts coming from Nagarjuna have my username link to my profile. More discord.

You are all about friction and discord Nagarjuna. Never mind how you go about this. WHY?

You have done everything in your power to get your friends to act out against others on this blog. What is to stop you from creating this secondary Nagarjuna. As you state in your Yahoo, rallying your friends, but never point out, you still have a few who have not followed you?

WHY do you need this so much Nagarjuna?

WHY can you not see each individual, each having their own experiences, values and beliefs. WHY can you not earn your own individuality by learning from others.

Steve said...

Tara, well, while just about anything may be possible, just like there COULD be a polkadotted purple people eater still lounging in my backyard waiting for Brenda to drive a hundred miles over here to see it for herself, SOME things sure don't seem very likely, including my posting those particular "apologies" under the circumstances in which they were posted. :-)
