Did you mean pick apart book for lack of factual information and not the ramblings of a self imposed God?

No apologies for hijacking this thread with Madeleine McCann discussion as I see it as releated to Jaycee's plight.
In an effort to give voice to those who wouldn't usually bother to reply to the wide-eyed ramblings of conspiracy theorists, I have gathered a few links 'a la Tara'.
Most people take the views of mainstream media at face value, but regard the views of the more 'out there' people with a smile and a sigh. The reason for this is simple: the world is not out to trick and deceive. Ok, sometimes one has to read between the lines, but seeing a news report as establishment propaganda is pure paranioa and, conversely, seeing the jottings of internet conspiracy theorists as genuine criminal evidence is just 'daft' (apologies for using English slang folks).
Some (no names, no pack-drill) think that the parents of Madeleine McCann either deliberately killed their daughter, or bear responsibility for her death by negligently leaving her alone to die while they dined out.
We've all watched enough detective shows to know that part of a murder investigation is to gain evidence. Part of this evidence is motive. First question to Tara: what motive could Madeleine's parents have for murdering their daughter while on holiday with friends?
If the McCann's had gone for a meal with friends, only to return and discover that their daughter had tragically died of some unforeseen, and previously unknown, medical condition why on earth would they decide to throw the unfortunate child over the father's shoulder so that he could run down a public highway, throw her in the trunk of a car (which records show that they had nver hired) and whisk her off into the night to dispose of her body. Why would they do that? Thinking...thinking...oh yeah - they wouldn't do that would they!

Instead, we have a child abduction in a Portuguese back-water, whose head detective had a history of getting it very, very wrong. This, coupled with the fact that the area is a major tourist destination with British and other Europeans, not to mention Americans. We have a political row taking place in the corridors of power in Brussels. Diplomats working overtime; the Portuguese anxious not to look like a nation who tolerates the presence of paedofiles. Add to all this the famous viciousness and provocativeness of the British press and you have a real dirty situation on your hands.
Enter the conspiracy theorists, who know that something is not quite right but are not quite sophisticated enough to disentangle the facts on offer. Also, it must be said, that they make a lot of money from their ideas, which is great as long as they can walk the line between truth and defamation.

Why were the McCanns made suspects in the first place? Because this is standard practice for all police departments around the world. The sad fact is that the most frequent killers of children are the parents. Not in this case however and you don't need to be Columbo to work that out.

The Boston Police Department is conducting an internal investigation into allegations by a pregnant officer that she was repeatedly raped by a fellow officer who threatened her husband's life.

Click To Comment

Both officers were placed on leave and ordered to surrender their weapons for their own protection after they appeared in a Boston courtroom Thursday where the alleged victim explained her case to a judge. She asked him to extend a restraining order against the other officer.

Both officers are members of the department's Special Operations Unit. NewsCenter 5 is not identifying either officer because one is an alleged rape victim and the other has not been formally charged with a crime.

The female officer claimed she was first assaulted by a male colleague following a shooting competition in Connecticut. She said she was forced to have sex with him several more times after the trip, claiming he used threats to keep her silent.

"He could shoot my husband in the head from 500 yards away and no one would know," she told the judge.

The male officer denies the allegations.

Isn't it convenient, just a plain denial.... When the baby is born, if it is not her husband's baby, and it turns out to be this other cop's baby, is this when he will state, I only denied that I raped her, I did not say that we did not have an affair.

Phillip Garrido's Letter From Hell: "I Was the Baby of the Family"

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS/AP) In March of 1977, Phillip Garrido was 25 and in federal prison pleading with a judge to reduce his 50-year prison sentence for kidnapping a stranger.

In neat handwriting and misspelled words, Garrido wrote in a letter that drugs had caused a "downfall" that led to his conviction a month earlier. HE PROMISED HE HAD SEEN THE ERROR OF HIS WAYS during his brief time behind bars.

Garrido, now charged with the 1991 kidnapping and rape of Jaycee Lee Dugard, told U.S. District Court Judge Bruce R. Thompson in 1977 that he was "ashamed" for what he had done and had later admitted on the witness stand.

He said he had finished his high school education during his time behind bars, was seeing a psychiatrist and learning the carpentry trade.

He was contrite and pleading.

"When living at home and going to school, my life was free from the influences of drugs," his letter began after he misspelled the judge's first name as "Bruse."

"I was the baby of the family and spoiled in the long run," he said.

The letter contained in court records provides new insight into the man accused of keeping Dugard locked away in his backyard for 18 years and fathering two children with her.

There was no hint of the sexually obsessed kidnapper and rapist who testified a month earlier to prowling through neighborhoods as a Peeping Tom and exposing himself to girls as young as 7.

Garrido told Thompson that by 1969, marijuana had found its way to his rural neighborhood east of San Francisco. He also began using copious amounts of LSD.

"Slowly it began to take me to another style of living and thinking, in the long run I lost much of my reasoning powers," he wrote. "Seven years of using made me fall from reality."

He assured the judge, however, that he had rediscovered the right path after seeing a psychiatrist.

"Of course that is because I wanted to, knowing this is my chance to get my life in line,” he wrote. “Drugs have been my downfall. I am so ashamed of my past. But my future is now in controle (sic)."

Tara, I read them. It took an age and I'm left with the conclusion that the detective thinks they are guilty bacause the tired English surgeon demontrated that famous English coldness that obviously proved to the detective that the foreigner must be guilty. Please point to one fact that, for you, closes the sale. Why on earth are Madeleine's parents guilty? Give me a motive or highlight a line in the detective's incoherent ramblings that prove to you their guilt, because I just can't see it.
Please don't post another link because it's all insubstantiated, pick and choose 'factlets'.

Three people go for a meal in a restaurant. The meal comes to $30. They agree to pay $10 each. They throw in their money and the waiter takes it; realises that he's mis-calculated the bill - should have been $25' and sees an opportunity to make some money illiegally. He returns to the table. "Sorry folks, I made a mistake: here's a dollar each back for you".
How much has each person paid?

Thadeus Greenson/The Times-Standard

Eureka native representing Jaycee Dugard and her family.

After hearing the horrible story of kidnap victim Jaycee Dugard, former United States attorney and Eureka native McGregor Scott said he didn't hesitate to offer his legal services free of charge.

”My motivations were really two-fold,” Scott said in a phone interview with the Times-Standard. “In a general sense, it's simply the right thing to do. These people are in need of good legal advice and counseling, and that's what I'm trying to provide them.

”And,” Scott continued, “I've dedicated almost two decades of my career to being a prosecutor ... and I've always valued my position and my role in that. My sense is that we in law enforcement in California failed Jaycee Dugard for the last 18 years, and I felt compelled to do something to try and make up for that.”

In June 1991, a then 11-year-old Dugard was snatched off the streets of South Lake Tahoe and into a stranger's car as her stepfather looked on. She was missing for more than 18 years, until a day in late August, when she and her two daughters -- ages 15 and 11 -- appeared at her alleged kidnappers' parole meeting. The discovery that Dugard and her daughters had lived in an elaborate compound hidden in the backyard of the Garridos' Antioch, Calif., home sent shock waves through the nation.

Phillip Craig Garrido and his wife, Nancy Garrido, were arrested the same day, and have since pleaded not guilty in El Dorado County Superior Court to 29
charges, including allegations of kidnapping, rape and false imprisonment. The couple faces a maximum sentence of life in prison, if convicted.

Contra Costa Sheriff Warren Rupf has said his agency “missed an opportunity” to find Dugard nearly three years ago, when a deputy was called to the Garridos' house after receiving a report of a woman and young children living in tents in the backyard.

The deputy left without searching the property after speaking with Phillip Garrido.

Phillip Garrido was also on parole during the time Dugard was missing after his 1977 conviction for the kidnapping and rape of a 25-year-old woman. State corrections officials have been unable to explain how Garrido could have concealed Dugard from parole agents during their visits to his home over the years.

The case continues to capture national attention, most recently when Garrido penned a jailhouse letter to an NBC news anchor saying he believes Dugard's “civil rights have clearly been violated,” alleging that she was repeatedly denied access to an attorney while being questioned by law enforcement.

On Friday, Scott said: “Our position is that we're just not going to dignify the letter with any kind of response.”

In a statement released to announce his representation of the Dugard family, Scott made clear that the avalanche of media attention was part of the reason he felt the family needed representation.

”As everyone can imagine, there are a host of legal issues that the family confronts, especially the prosecution of Jaycee's abductors,” he said in the release. “In addition, the family faces an onslaught of media attention that the family understands but does not invite.”

Despite hailing from behind the Redwood Curtain, Scott himself is no stranger to media attention. As the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of California -- nominated in 2003 by President George W. Bush -- he handled a number of high profile cases, most notably what's commonly referred to as the “Lodi terror case,” which culminated in a 23-year-old Lodi man's conviction on charges of providing material to support terrorists and lying to federal agents.

Mostly, Scott said he's just followed in his family's footsteps -- two generations of them, to be exact.

McGregor Scott's father, Jeremiah Scott Jr., still practices law in Eureka, now in private practice after representing the Humboldt Bay Harbor Recreation and Conservation District from 1974 to 2004. McGregor Scott's grandfather, Jeremiah Scott Sr., also spent his career as a practicing lawyer, moving to Eureka after graduating from the University of California's Hastings School of law in 1930. In 1938, Jeremiah Scott Sr. was elected Humboldt County district attorney, a position he held for nine years.

With law in his blood, Scott graduated from St. Bernard's High School in 1981 --after earning nine varsity letters in athletics, as his father proudly points out. After receiving an undergraduate degree from Santa Clara University, McGregor Scott began following his family's lead, heading to UC Hastings, where he would earn a law degree in 1989, almost 60 years after his grandfather.

”My dad and my granddad both gave me role models in terms of my life's work, and they were classic, small town lawyers who were doing good work for all the right reasons, and that gave me a little motivation to look at the law as a career,” McGregor Scott said. “While my path has been a bit different than theirs, I think the principles are the same.”

Evidently, they put something in the water in the Scotts' house, as McGregor Scott's brother, Stuart Scott, is also a lawyer, now handling gang prosecutions for the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office.

McGregor Scott left the U.S. Attorney's Office earlier this year, joining the law firm of Orrick, Herrington and Sutcliffe, where his focus is white collar criminal defense and corporate investigations, according to the firm's Web site.

Since taking on the representation of the Dugard family, McGregor Scott said he's received a flood of e-mails and phone calls from well-wishers in the local area, and from across the nation.

”I've gotten e-mails from all over the country from people I've never met just saying thank you for doing this, and that's really heart-warming and really reinforces my feeling that this is the right thing to do,” he said, adding that Eureka remains very close to his heart. “I've always considered Eureka to be my hometown, and everything I've done in my life has been based on the values I learned there.”

Nancy Garrido victim or monster

This article focuses on Phillip Garrido’s second half, Nancy Garrido. Though it appears likely that Nancy Garrido might try to claim some sort of abusive/victim defense, perhaps even Stockholm syndrome, the sentiment regarding Nancy Garrido is no less appalling as it is regarding her husband, Phillip. Phillip Garrido is 58 and Nancy is 54; the two met while Phillip Garrido was serving a sentence for rape in Fort. Leavenworth. Many around the nation agree with the Huffington Post’s assessment that Nancy Garrido should have known immediately that Phillip was less than a desirable catch.

An interesting fact revealed in the Huffington Post’s article is that during Jaycee’s Dugard early captivity, Nancy Garrido continued to work as a state-licensed nurse’s aide. During her years of employment, Nancy Garrido worked with children and adults with disabilities. This is a scary thought in itself. Here we have a woman who was charged along with her husband for the rape of Jaycee Dugard, and she has been licensed by the State of California to work with some of California’s most vulnerable citizens. Though the investigation might not extend this far; it would be worthwhile for those who were associated with Nancy Garrido to be questioned as to whether or not any improper behavior occurred.

The Huffington Post article looks for reasons as to why/how Nancy Garrido worked with disabled people. Though there are numerous reasons, it has to be considered that Nancy Garrido is just as capable of violence, evil, and perversion as her husband Phillip Garrido is.

The days when people looked towards women with automatic sympathy and believed they were the victim are long gone. Consider Aileen Wuornos, Melissa Huckaby, Casey Anthony, and now Nancy Garrido.

Nancy Garrido is not going to walk into her trial automatically assigned the ‘victim’ label. Should they choose to play that role, her defense attorney certainly will have their work cut out for them. Especially in lieu of the fact that Garrido had been incarcerated for four months leaving Jaycee Dugard in Nancy Garrido’s care. Should Nancy Garrido have had any interest in saving herself or Jaycee Dugard, she would have done so then.
Finally, in our latest Jaycee Dugard news, an interesting story appeared in the Associated Press.

Nancy Garrido brothers say she is cooperating in Jaycee Dugard case

The article reports that Nancy Garrido’s brothers, David and Rey Bocanegra, stated to Inside Edition that Nancy Garrido was helping with the case. They also stated that they felt that Phillip Garrido had brainwashed Nancy, however, they have also stated that they believe Nancy Garrido deserves to be punished for her crime. The interview aired on Inside Addition on September 28, 2009. They stated that Nancy Garrido’s maiden name was Bocanegra and that she had never been in trouble prior to her relationship with Phillip Garrido.

Describing their family life, Nancy Garrido’s brothers said that they grew up in a loving home in Texas; there were six children in the Bocanegra family. The brothers said that when Phillip and Nancy Garrido were married in 1981, the family was deeply concerned: both for her well being and the type of life she and Phillip would have. When the brothers saw the conditions of the Garrido home combined with the squalid backyard environment where Jaycee Dugard and her children lived they were horrified.

Rey Bocanegra stated that they did not grow up in that type of environment and called the conditions of the home disgusting.

Rey concluded the interview by extending an apology to Jaycee Dugard on behalf of Nancy’s family. It reads:

I apologize to you and your family for what my sister did. I hope you're doing better, you and your kids. God bless you.

Some say that Nancy Garrido, 54, is the "real monster" in the 1991 abduction of 11-year-old Jaycee Dugard. There is no doubt that her husband, Phillip Garrido, 58, is a horrific figure. But it's the predator's partner who sends shivers down my spine.

I don't know if this qualifies as a love story, but let me take you to the beginning of their romance. Nancy met Phillip Garrido while he was serving time for rape and kidnapping -yes, you read that correctly. The Garridos' love story began in prison. If you were looking for a clue that something is wrong with Nancy Garrido, here's clue number one!

While serving his prison sentence in Leavenworth, Kentucky for the abduction and rape of a young girl, Nancy "fell in love" with felon, rapist, and kidnapper Philip Garrido. Of course, Nancy "falling in love" with a convicted sex offender isn't exactly the version of prison romance that we've heard about before. No, this is a woman falling love with a man who preyed on children. I find this even more troublesome than hearing about women who fell in love with notorious murderers like the Menendez boys--or even Charlie Manson!

This woman knowingly struck up a romance with someone who had been convicted of kidnap and rape. But Nancy wanted to be with him so badly, she exchanged letters with him and finally married her Prince Charming behind prison walls! They have been married for almost 28 years.

During their marriage, Nancy worked in the outside world. She was not kept captive in the home herself. It's pretty ironic that Nancy worked as a state-licensed nurse's aide, serving adults and children with disabilities even as she stood by and watched her husband father two children with their captive, young Jaycee Dugard.

Anonymous said...

Nancy helped keep Jaycee Dugard isolated so the girl could be available to her husband to satisfy his sick needs. As a result, young Jaycee was a victim of Philip's repeated sexual attacks for 18 years! What could Nancy have been thinking?

Which brings us to another question: how, while acting as a captor, could she have simultaneously chosen to care for disabled patients? Could it have been because, in a twisted way, it made her feel more powerful?

Nancy was, after all, unable to stop the abuses and tragedy occurring in her own home. But perhaps, in her role as nurse, she could be a source of comfort, a sharp contrast to her roles at home--jailor and the source of another woman's pain. Some psychologists argue that she herself was a victim of Stockholm Syndrome (a condition seen in abducted hostages in which the hostage develops signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker). Others speculate that she was afraid of Phillip and so "went along" with his evil ways.

For 18 years...??? Even while, for a time, her husband was in prison on a parole violation. In my mind, Nancy Garrido was not a victim. She was a sick, vicious, abuser herself who must now be held accountable for what happened.

There was a time, when Jaycee was 13, when Phillip Garrido was sent back to prison for four months. That meant Nancy Garrido had to step in as Jaycee's captor and continue the imprisonment her husband started.

Nancy clearly had an opportunity to release Jaycee while Phillip was away. She did not, and as a woman, I find it truly unthinkable that Nancy, on her own, could continue to keep Jaycee captive for four months in the belief that it was the "right" thing to do.

While we can ask, "How can a woman do this to a child?" we need to examine a possibility that there may be something bigger going on--perhaps an emerging trend.

Do you recall the Austrian man, Josef Fritzl, who was arrested in April, 2008 for imprisoning and raping his own daughter for 24 years in a windowless dungeon he had built beneath his home. People worldwide were horrified, especially at Mrs. Fritzl - the wife - who never went to the authorities to urge them to find her missing daughter, Elizabeth. Even when Joseph "found" babies on the doorstep, he had her convinced that their runaway daughter had dropped off the babies to be raised by her parents...! How can a woman be so blind!?

Anonymous said...

Earlier this month Michigan police took a 35-year-old mother, Aimee Louise Sword, into custody after finding she used the Internet to track down her biological son (whom she gave up for adoption a decade ago). Then, she seduced and raped her teenage son. It is still unclear whether or not the boy knows it was his biological mother.

The Sacramento Bee has also reported a trend:
Charlene Williams of Sacramento lured six teenage girls and four young adults to their deaths as her husband demanded the perfect "sex slave." Michelle Lyn Michaud, also of Sacramento, customized curling irons to help her boyfriend torture and murder a 22-year-old student abducted from a Pleasanton street. In Utah, Wanda Eileen Barzee was accused of helping her husband kidnap 14-year old Elizabeth Smart at knifepoint from her Salt Lake City bedroom so that he could secure another "wife." And now along comes Nancy Garrido of the Bay Area.

Allegedly, it was Nancy Garrido who actually snatched Jaycee from the street in 1991 while her husband drove the getaway car. Now in jail18 years later, Nancy claims to truly love her and her two daughters "very much." Is this a sick, twisted case of a woman who was brainwashed and manipulated by a religious fanatic and convicted felon? Or was Nancy a monster in her own right? The other question is this: could Nancy have made up her own mind to end the horrors happening in her own home? Certainly, the answer to this question will be critical to her criminal defense case.

Investigators have charged Nancy Garrido with almost as many offenses as her husband. She faces 2 counts of rape, 7 counts of forcible lewd acts and 4 counts of forcible rape - in addition to the kidnapping charge. The charges against Nancy do not indicate whether police believe she participated directly in the sexual assaults or acted more as an accomplice.

Ted Cassman, a criminal defense lawyer not involved in the Garrido case, told the LA Times in September that any lawyer who claims Nancy was "brainwashed" will have a difficult time persuading a jury. "I bet they are going to claim her husband was abusive, controlling and dominating and that she was under his spell - but that is a really difficult defense," Cassman told the Times.

I'm not particularly interested in the reason why Nancy Garrido sat by and watched (or participated) in the brutal rape of Jaycee and her 18-year captivity. The legal system will determine whether Nancy was "unstable" or "mentally ill" and how that will affect her criminal sentencing (once the trail takes place). But the fact remains that Nancy participated in the kidnapping of Jaycee and did nothing to return the girl to her family for 18 years.

In my view, Nancy Garrido is a monster who ripped a family apart and scarred three innocent people - Jaycee and her daughters -for life. As far as I'm concerned, she should (and probably will) receive significant jail time for her actions.

Yes, I had already read about that Sword lady...very disturbing.

http://www.foxnews.com/video2/video08.html?maven_referralObject=10128014&maven_referralPlaylistId=&sRevUrl=http://www.foxnews.com/geraldo/

Garrido apparently had a friend... someone reported he may have been involved, but not only that, he may have kidnapped his own victims and kept them as well.

"Mike
My opinions are based on facts, the offical Portugese Police files.
If you which to base your opinions purely on the UK media, then that is your choice."
Don't take this personally Tara. The official Portuguese police files have been debunked and the detective who wrote them has been found guilty of perjury - FACT. His written word cannot be published because of this. Why are you wasting emotional energy finding reasons to criminalise the parents of an abducted child? Let's have a little sympathy. Jaycee's stepfather was hounded for years by mean-spirited people and they were eventually proved wrong.

Anonymous said...

Have you seen the Geraldo interview of Molino? Trying to find that.

Coonhound said...

Boogie...I can't watch it, I use a blackbery phone.

How long is the video?

Anonymous said...

Not sure, I just saw news that he interveiewed her on Geraldo at Large. I am still looking for that video. That woman was shut down from talking to soon, she knows more than she is letting on also.

"The official Portuguese police files have been debunked and the detective who wrote them has been found guilty of perjury"

Note who prepared that report in the PJ files Chief Inspector Tavares de Almeida NOT Goncalo Amaral that you are referring to, who has been given leave to appeal against his conviction.

Coonhound said...

Who's molino?

The video I meant was the one about garrido's friend.

Mike said...

In an attempt to prove that people see what they want to see, I will post this question again:

Three people go for a meal in a restaurant. The meal comes to $30. They agree to pay $10 each. They throw in their money and the waiter takes it; realises that he's mis-calculated the bill - should have been $25' and sees an opportunity to make some money illiegally. He returns to the table. "Sorry folks, I made a mistake: here's a dollar each back for you" (pocketing the other $2).

How much has each person paid?

p.s. Not really trying to catch people out - this isn't difficult from a maths point of view.

Coonhound said...

What is the answer, mike?

I don't have enough fingers and toes to figure it out!

Anonymous said...

Molino is the woman who pleaded in the news for Jaycee to come forward and clear her name... the FBI searched all her property because they felt she knew more than she was saying... she had kept facts from all police sources

Coonhound said...

Boogie,

Oh, that was her name.

I'm interested in hearing about garrido's friend you mentioned...

Anonymous said...

Mike said...

Coonhound:

Mate, this isn't a trick. Just give me your answer. You can't be wrong. I'll bet a lot of money that the answer that I get back will be the same one that I gave when I was asked.

Kind regards

Mike

Anonymous said...

I am trying to research where any other news is on that. It is sparse. I found it by trying to find the Geraldo interview, and it popped up in my search

Coonhound said...

$9 each!

Mike said...

"$9 each!"

I pay $10 and someone gives me a dollar back, so I've paid $9.

Anyone else?

Coonhound said...

Mike...

I do believe I get your point...

Because the way the question peolple add that extra dollar rather than subtract it from the ten.

(I asked my 18 year old that question, I'm waiting)

Mike said...

I'll give it 5 minutes Coondog - you never know, other people may read this!

Anonymous said...

Coonhound, just bumped into more information that Nancy had a blog also called talent revealed.... which contained all of Garrido's sick music about little girls.

Anonymous said...

Are you calculating how much the waiter paid himself?

Anonymous said...

9, 9, 9, 2

Mike said...

You're on it mate.

Each person pays $10 and gets a dollar back. So, each has paid $9 right?
Three multiplied by nine is twenty seven. The waiter has two dollars in his pocket.
3 * 9 = 27 + 2 = 29.

Where has the dollar gone?

Coonhound said...

Ok...

They paid 8.333 dollars, and 2 were stolen!!!

Hah

Mike said...

The bill was $30 and the customers paid $10 each remember.

Anonymous said...

Ah, the power of suggestion

Mike said...

Ha - apologies Coonhound - subliminal error. No disrespect intended.

I guess the waiter dropped the other dollar...

It done got lost!

Anonymous said...

Huh?

Yes, I answered, $29 was the total with my answer... It was the power of suggestion that he put 2 in his pocket that stopped the thought process. The power of suggestion, is your point the power of the media?

Anonymous said...

Coonhound, here is Nancy Garrido's website

Coonhound said...

One point for coonDog!

Anonymous said...

LOL.... here is Nancy Garrido's website: http://talentrevealed.blogspot.com/

Well, that was a pretty bare site. MSNBC was able to pull music down from it, with all Garrido's child sex songs somehow

Coonhound said...

Coonhound said...

Do you mean the words, or the singing w music?

Anonymous said...

No, they found the music, I thought the video said from Nancy Garrido's site. They printed the words and had them posted within their video.

Anonymous said...

You know, I wish they would come back with the DNA results of that first bone that they found in the neighbor's yard.

Mike said...

Boogiemanhater / Tara / Coonhound and anyone else interested.

My point is this: anyone can put a spin on a fact, especially if it is not well defined. We all listen to politicians and think "this guy/woman is ok!"
Politicians are clever people and know exactly how to push your buttons. They have learnt this because they are driven by the pursuit of power and there is no stronger impulse. Internet conspiracy theorists prey on the receptive. We are all receptive to a degree - just never discard your instincts about a particular issue.

Answer is: 3 * 9 = 27.

27 + 2 = $29

Where is the dollar?

DON'T ADD THE $2, BUT SUBTRACT!

27 - 2 = $25

To elaborate: if things don't seem to add up, it is probably because they add down instead.

God Bless

Mike

Brenda, do you have a local Topix in your city or town? My town does, and I know Sacramento does. We are 2200 miles apart, so maybe you might have one also. I think that is a good place for you to check into and get the word out to some local people that may want to help you, or join you, or just give their opinions.

You can also state your case in my Topix, and Sacramento, and other cities if you find them.

The long and drawn out passages I pasted here were from my local Topix in Sikeston, Missouri.

We can't even ask our friends to look after our children now without checking that they are registered. See http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/8279274.stm

I'll bet he is many of the drop by posters posting evil things to do to the Garridos, just to spark up more conversation/argument when it slowed. There does seem to be a timeline and plot to his instigation and antagonizing. Tara most certainly conveniently always around to talk to for him when noone else will have anything to do with him or his other aka's..... Although, she does have some facts to post, unlike the Nag, so maybe it is a friend (?). I dunno, but others have good reason to watch this site, and I am sure they are picking up the facts... if not, I'll keep posting what I see.

Anonymous said...

You know, that expose comment does remind me of something that really bothers me about Garrido and his first trial. We studied the transcript. It was very clear during his first trial..... He talked about going to grade schools, watching little girls and jacking off. He said some disturbing things while he was on the witness stand about children. While that trial was for rape of a grown woman, the attorneys, Court and Parole Board should have had him classified as a child predator as well.

If they would have paid attention to these very important facts that he stated in an open, recorded Court Trial, this could have been prevented, or at least he would have sparked up as a possibility when Jaycee was first abducted.

How can they just ignore and let this just go on undocumented and attended to. He even stated he was not stoned all those times.

I just received an e-mail from Teresa, the area she is in has had power restored. She said people are taking this a lot better than one would think and shared a story which she asked me to share with this blog.

"To lighten the load here as compared to other parts of the world" She wrote regarding the children:

To get their minds off the storm, a teacher gave candy out to group of children, and asked them to see if they could look at and taste the candy and then tell what flavor each was.

The children began to identify the flavors by their color:

Red...................Cherry

Yellow................Lemon

Green.................Lime

Orange ............Orange

Finally the teacher gave them all a new HONEY flavor lifesaver. None of the children could identify the taste.

The teacher said, 'I will give you all a clue. It's what your mother may sometimes call your father.'

One little girl looked up in horror, spit her lifesaver out and yelled, 'Oh my God! They're ass-holes!'

The teacher had to leave the room!

denise said...

Hey everyone. Hope you are all doing fine.

I think that Garrido might really feel that Jaycee is a part of his family, and he was appalled that she was not allowed an attorney to be present during the entire process that he is speaking about. He might really believe that Jaycee also felt like she is such a great part of his family, that she would defend him to the death.

I do wonder what Jaycee was feeling when all of this happened. And how she felt the entire years of being in that home. Especially after she had her babies.

Anyhow, the part where he says he never hurt the little girls, and they slept next to him every night just irritates me. Not that he was in the bed with them, which is sickening enough. But for the fact that Jaycee did not get to care and nurture and cuddle her own babies each night. That bastard took her motherhood from her. The girls thought Jaycee was their sister. So I guess they allowed the girls to sleep inside the house? And left Jaycee outside like an animal?

Hey Denise, I know you love Nag, but that is no reason to attack Teresa for sending the blog a message. I think you should get yourself together and realize it is me you should aim your sarcasm to... After all I am the one who confronted the phony Nag today, not Teresa.

When I reread the message she sent, I also do not think it was at all making light of their plight.... I think she was saying in that message exactly what she said to me in her message to me and YouAreSuchAFreak, that the philippine people are strong and doing well under the circumstances. The children are scared, but everyone is taking care of them. What do you want to make such a negative thing out of a nice message she sent. You are something else you know that. Unbelievable!!!!

Very interesting game play in here the last 4 or 5 days. Insightful TheBoogieManHater and Coonhound ;). Not sure he is worth it though, but good work.

Oh Denise, it is not sarcasm, it is straight up fact. I don't know if you heard it as a joke in the past, I will never really know, I have never heard it before, and it certainly doesn't appear to be a joke to me, but who knows, maybe it was. But that is neither here nor there, what matters to me is your attitude. There is no call for it, unless you are upset that your buddy was called out on the carpet for what he is. You don't like it, because you have fallen for it, but you know what, the truth is the truth and other people need to know when someone is playing games the way he does. It is nothing less than Garrido pretending to be somebody else to lure them into his car. As far as I am concerned you can keep your sarcasm to yourself. I know where Teresa's heart is, she has been there for several weeks helping them.... What the hell have you done to help anyone? But yet you will make these kind of remarks. Fuck you.

I asked him where the other dollar went, and he said, the waiter gave it back to them, along with the 2 dollars he kept, added up to the extra 5 dollars. The 25 went towards their meal. Im so proud of him.

Steve said...

Denise, did you ever see "Invasion of the Body Snatchers?" In that movie (both versions), people would use drugs and every means at their disposal to avoid falling asleep and being taken over by evil aliens.

I can just picture ole Boogie sitting at her/his computer, drinking cup after cup of very strong coffee, eyes teribly bloodshot, keeping watch on this blog lest ole Naggy rope in an unsuspecting victim and perpetrate unspeakble horrors against her, him, or her or his children. :-)

In one sense, it's comical. But in another sense, it's very sad.

denise said...

Nagarjuna, how are you in chess? Do you like it? My son absolutely loves chess. And I would love to see you and him in an online game.

I did see my mother today. She asked if she could spend the day with my sons, because she will be leaving to California on Monday, which is earlier than she originally expected to be leaving. She later came to my house and asked me if she had asked me to join them. I said no, but it was ok, because I did not want to go really. They were going out to dinner, and I worried that I might ruin the evening. The slightest things spark my mouth into gear, and it gets ugly.

She is really upset, and it is so unexpected. She is as well as can be expected I guess. I hate it that her brother is gone. She doesnt deserve any more hurts.

I sold my camaro today. So now I get to decide which bills I can partly pay. I have to see if my mother is going to need some extra cash also, and probably give her some of the money I received today.

Steve said...

Denise, I can't play chess. I have a learning disability that renders my visuospatial abilities all but nonexistent. Your son would crush me in a nanosecond. But I might be able to give him a better match on the bowling lanes. :-)

Now that you've sold your Camaro, does that mean that you have NO car to get around in? What year model is your Camaro?

denise said...

lol That is so funny. My son and I both got a good laugh from that one. I did see that movie, was it the one with the pods? I do not remember there being drugs in the movie though. That was hilarious though.

So, my son wants to know if you're willing to get your butt kicked in chess? lol You have the advantage, I just forced some Nyquil down him because he keeps coughing when he lays down, and nobody can sleep.

denise said...

My son said he bets you can beat him in bowling. His best game is a 100. (And that was probably with the bumper guards lol) Just kidding about the bumpers.

lol Today when I was selling my camaro, which is a 1997, I was thinking about when I posted here that nobody wants to sell their car for drugs and have to walk after that. But sometimes they do sell their cars, etc.

I did not sell my car for drugs. And I will not be walking. lol I have a 2007 Pontiac G6.

Steve said...

Yes, it was the movie with the seed pods. I saw the first version when I was a little boy, and it scared the bejesus out of me. The second version, starring Donald Sutherland, came along a couple of decades later. In the second version, at least, they did use pills of some kind, probably caffeine or speed, to stay awake. But all for naught. Sleep overtook them all eventually, and there was a seed pod waiting ro replicate them, just as sleep will inevitably overtake Boogie and his army eventually and then you know what will happen. :-)

Too bad your son and I can do real bowling against each other online. :-)

Steve said...

I meant "can't do real bowling."

I'm glad you still have a car. I imagine it's very helpful where you live. :-)

As for bowling, did you know that you can see me bowling on YouTube? :-) My wife too. She took some cellphone videos of us bowling and then uploaded them to YouTube.

denise said...

Real bowling online would be pretty impossible. But I can almost guarantee you that if there is any game that is computer or video related, he will kick butt. Even bowling, and without the gutter bumpers even. lol

denise said...

Oh, we want to see the video. What is the link or what are the key words that we type into youtube, please?

And yes, we are 2 hours ahead of you.

Steve said...

I was never into video games. I was already in my 20's or 30's when the first ones came out. And even when I was a boy and pinball was the rage, I didn't care for it. I was too busy playing basketball (as boys who are already 6'4" when they enter the seventh grade are prone to do :-)) and bowling.

Steve said...

Give me a moment to find it and I'll post the link here, for you and Boogie. :-) Then you can all see the real Nag in action. :-)

Steve said...

Here's the URL to one of the videos, and you see me and my wife in others clustered around that one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeATmOwOJyY&feature=related

denise said...

I started a few threads in my local Topix. I wish there was some way you could help me with it. I am really trying to figure out how to make Medicare pay for In Home Health services the same as Medicaid pays for the low life losers that choose to sponge all of their lives. :)

I did not want to post this passion of mine here, because I feel I am being somewhat unfair to Brenda, because I just cannot understand anything when it comes to her passion that she is so concerned about. I am trying so hard to understand so I can give some input on the subject. I am just at a loss.

Steve said...

I have to get to bed, Denise. You and Boogie enjoy the videos. :-) We can talk more tomorrow.

Goodnight, everyone.

denise said...

So that was your wife in number 7? I couldnt see much of her, but you guys rock!! lol

Where were you guys bowling at? My second job I ever had was at the bowling alley on Stockton Blvd. Not sure if it still exists. But guess what, Nag!! My brother owned the Pro shop there. He loves bowling, too. Do you know Roy Ichiho?

denise said...

Good night, Nagarjuna. Sweet dreams, take care, stay safe, and God bless! Im going to go to bed also. Good night everyone. peace

Everyone,

Nag has already revealed himself to be a middle-aged, balding, blog loving, married, and unemployed man with a very irregular outlook on many issues. (No disrespect intended to you Nag)

I guess I don't see where he would choose this cover in order to hunt for his prey in the way some have implicitly and explicitly stated.

As far "sock and puppet" games...anyone of us could be guilty. There is no way to really know at this point, IMO.

Also, Nagarjuna is the only one that has a detailed profile and it does "match up" with how he has presented himself here. Have any of you read his "Naked Reflections" on the Madoff case? (No offense Nag)

What I'm saying is nag's pudding is out there for inspection...nobody else's is though.

Nag's pudding is always the same...

Also, nag's pudding isn't mixed in a way with things to entice vulnerable unexpecting adults for indecent acts, let alone children. In fact, most would find his pudding "unsavory".

So, I guess I don't understand some of the accusations thrown out there about him...unless...

Boogie, maybe you enjoy tasting Nagg's pudding, too! Sometimes it seems you say things to egg him on...imo.

As for me, I like Nag's wit. I like having to be "on top of my game" when Nag is around. Nag, like many others make me laugh and I appreciate that. Nagarjuna is a very unique person. When he's around he does flavor things up a good bit.

Nagarjuna...I make remarks sometimes with the intention of "smoking you out" in case you are around or popping in for a peek...its all in good fun on my end...really.

Coonhound said...

Gooddmorning to you denise!

Steve said...

Coonhound, actually, I AM employed. Or, at least, semi-employed I write for an online publication. But I'm looking for more remunerative work. :-)

But how dare you say that most would find my pudding "unsavory." :-) After all, I'm tall, gray, and devastatingly handsome, and I'm a fair bowler to boot. :-)

Steve said...

Hi, Denise. Yes, that's my wife. Actually, there are several videos of her on there, as there are of me. You and Boogie and see from the left side, from the right side, and from behind, bowling one-handed and, as is all the rage today, two-handed.

I bowl a little ways out of town in a wonderful little establishment with what have to be some of the cheapest bowling rates in the country.

No, I don't know or know of your brother. He owned a pro shop? I'm guessing he's a pretty good bowler. Does he still live around here?

Steve said...

Boogie, come on now! Admit that you're beginning to feel a little foolish. :-) Or has your paranoia struck so deep that you think all of this YouTube and other stuff is some elaborate ruse of mine and that I'm the sexual deviant equivalent of Hannibal Lecter? :-)

You're too much, Boogie! :-) My hope is fast fading that we can ever put aside our past differences and become dear friends. :-)

I think I'm going to cry. :-)

Steve said...

Correction: "You and Boogie can see me from..."

Steve said...

In fact, I'm so devastated by Boogie's continued rejection that I may just have to disappear for awhile to work through the pain while my sock puppets step in for me. :-)

I am 2 comments in, you guys have been busy?? how come it always slows down when I start cahtting.. Do i repel people? ha-ha lol.. :)

this is in response to Nag and Coonhounds comments

Now I have never called Nag a pedophile as I do NOT think that you are and Teresa was the first person to say that and it frankly saddened me..I DO NOT condone people making ANY accusation of that nature without viable proof. It is not just saying you stole something whuch is bad too but it is a VERY SERIOUS ACCUSATION! That should not EVER be taken lighlty. When you say that you have no idea of the ramification you could cause someone and that is the TRUTH... but I have ALWAYS let that be known, as well as I do not condone Tara being called names and have said something as well.. I do not think that we are all sock puppets... I wish a lot of the personal accusations would have not happened as each one was hard for me to read.. plus I was called a "bitch Pedopfhile" by youraresuchafreak.. I wirotew a very sensible rebuttle and it NEVER happened again! Now Freak and I have openly cimmunicated and we are cool.. We moved on.. Im okay with it now.. its over.

Boogie has been intense with Nag but I also see that Nag starts things and then conveniently leaves just like he did with me the other day and avoiding the topic all together then chi,es in when he wants and its jumping back 10 subjects...This has been my experience.. Do i think Boogie should have called him names NO. But should you Nag have said you were going to slap the piss out of him and blah blah, you antagonize too..I think Boogie just gets tired of it after telling you prior that Boogie is tired of it..

people have asked me questions and had me explain myself and once I do its okay.. so maybe its frustrating for some when they feel they are not getting the answers to their questions when the opposite side is demanding the same thing.. I for one find good in all of you..Although I a have been irritated a couple of times but I STILL see good in all of you.

just thought id chime is for a sec.

Coonhound, you suggested previously that I pre-announce the books I'll be summarizing on my new blog. I doubt that anyone will be interested in reading any of them. But just in case, my first book will be an amazingly clear and wonderful overview of the free will vs determinism issue titled "A Contemporary Introduction to Free Will" by Robert Kane, a foremost defender of free will.

After I've boned up on all the arguments, I guess I'll have to slap him around a little to so that he see's the light and realizes that free will is an illusion. :-)

Steve said...

"It is not just saying you stole something whuch is bad too but it is a VERY SERIOUS ACCUSATION! That should not EVER be taken lighlty."

Brenda, you're absolutely right about this. False accusations of that magnitude simply should not be tolerated, and decent people here should let the accuser know that he will be shunned unless and until he retracts the accusations and apologizes for them. I've, frankly, been very disappointed that this hasn't happened.

Coonhound said...

Hey all!

I need to catch up here on posts bc I've been reading more of Nag's blog entries, specifically from

No, Nag has nothing to hide!

"Boogie has been intense with Nag but I also see that Nag starts things and then conveniently leaves just like he did with me the other day and avoiding the topic all together"

Brenda, I "left" our discussion because it didn't hold my interest. I made it very clear that I'm exceedingly skeptical of those conspiracy theories and that I strongly suspect that you're seeing things that aren't there. I had nothing more to say about it, and no one was talking about anything I did have something to say about.

I mentioned healthcare reform yesterday, but no one really picked up on that. So, I drop in from time to time and then I move on to other things.

But don't forget that even when I appear to be gone, "I'll be watching you." :-)

Steve said...

"But should you Nag have said you were going to slap the piss out of him and blah blah, you antagonize too..I think Boogie just gets tired of it after telling you prior that Boogie is tired of it.."

Come on now, Brenda! Do you REALLY mean to suggest that there's some kind of equivalence between me jocularly saying I may have to figuratively slap the pi*s out of someone, and that someone repeatedly caling me a pedophile whom they hate and would like to castrate?

Come on now, Brenda. You're smarter and fairer than that.

Yes, the original "Body Snatchers" bowled me over when I was a boy and truly IS a classic.

What are some of your other favorite sci-fi movies? Mine include "Forbidden Planet" and "The Day the Earth Stood Still."

Brendastar,

Did you catch my long and rambling message to you from yesterday?

BrendaStar said...

TheBoogieManHater,

Thank you for the update on Teresa! Her joke was fine I just read it..

BrendaStar said...

I already stated Nag that was NOT okay by any means and i spent quite a little time in that aspect.. As you could read.....

Does anyone remember the movie...Sssss?

Yes, the name of it is:

It was made in the early 70's.

In the UK it was called

It's finally warming up this morning to the point where I'll soon be able to take a nice walk in the park.

Fall is definitely here.

Steve said...

Brenda, I read what you said, but it seemed somehow understated. It further seemed that you were partially justifying the accusations and very hateful comments (and the fact that they've never been retracted or apologized for) by saying that I provoked them. This is what I've been disappointed with.

But it's not THAT big a deal.

BrendaStar said...

Nag,

I DID comment on healthcare you never replied. You did leave and it held your interest to argue with me yet when I laid down my facts which Coonhound had some great questions.. you conveniently left and thats that truth "it didnt hold your interest" hmmm interesting... oh yeah because you were telling me to look at pros and cons of something that you have NEVER done.. I remember now... Dont you think that is hypocritical? of yourself?

and you can watch me all you want I dont give a flying hoot. thats why my profile is public for everyone to see i could give a rats patooty!!

you need to read all of the comment detail before you rip one sentence apart...

Steve said...

Brenda, calm down. Please. Pretty please. I wasn't interested in discussing healthcare reform as some kind of alleged conspiracy to take over the world. I was interested in discussing the idea that ready access to affordable healthcare should be considered a basic right and how we could reform it to honor this right and not "break the bank" in the process.

Coonhound said...

Nagarjuna..

I do believe I addressed that which deeply disappointed you that nobody addressed!

I did so days back, thank you very much! And I did so after a very disturbing conversation one night b/w me you and boogie!

And you never said anything to me about it!!

Which is fine, but don't say how nobody has stood up for truth here.

Siwl

Coonhound said...

The fact that you overlooked and did not reply to it when I addressed that which hasn't been supposedly addressed and dissappoints you deeply...

And that sorta dissappointed me Nag:)

SIWL

Coonhound, maybe I didn't read what you said. But if I did, I didn't see any words to the effect that such accusations, which have been made repeatedly, are simply unacceptable and to be condemned. I suppose we might have a difference of opinion, Coonhound, on just how bad such accusations are. But, frankly, I don't see how anyone could tolerate them at all. In a sense, it's worse, in my opinion, than anything Nilax posted; yet, Boogie more or less got a free pass.

Coonhound said...

Denise and others have also pointed out their feelings on such accusations, too.

Steve said...

"The fact that you overlooked and did not reply to it when I addressed that which hasn't been supposedly addressed and dissappoints you deeply..."

If you remember when you did this and can point me to it, I'd like to read it, Coonhound.

Coonhound said...

Well, its not like I can wash boogie's mouth out with soap!!

Why don't you focus on what has been said in your defense?

And how you have been treated with love and respect?

Coonhound said...

Nag,

I did so biblically!

And it really is too difficult for me to go page hunting on my phone.

Steve said...

Without wanting to belabor this Boogie business too much, let me clarify something. I'm not saying that no one has told Boogie that they don't agree with his/her accusations or that they think it's fine for him/her to carry on against me the way s/he has. People have spoken up. Coohnound, Denise, and Brenda have all called her/him (Is Boogie a she or a he?) on it to some degree. What I was expressing my disappointment about was that they didn't call him on it strongly enough. Not given the magnitude of the accusation and its potential repercussions. Now maybe this is more a matter of my perception than of some objective fact. I'm simply telling you how it appeared to me. It seems to have appeared to you differently. And if it has, I don't suppose there's much point in going further with this, seeing as how there are more pleasant things we could be talking about on this beautiful Sunday morning.

Coonhound said...

Nag,

Many here profess christianity...

Believe me, there is no stronger word than that of God's Word when you truely love the lord.

Steve said...

"Well, its not like I can wash boogie's mouth out with soap!!"

Again, without going much further with this, I was disappointed that Boogie's conduct wasn't rebukedmore strongly. No, you couldn't literally wash Boogie's mouth out with soap, but you could have said words to the effect of, "Boogie, repeatedly and unequivocally calling someone a pedophile without proof and saying you want to castrate him is immoral and unacceptable and is completely beyond the pale in any civilized forum. I will have nothing further to do with it or you unless and until you apologize, and I strongly urge that no one else does either."

THAT, to me, would have been a more appropriate response. But I guess we disagree on that, and, so it goes...:-)

Coonhound said...

Also,

Biblically I addressed many things on my post..my intent was not to tell any one person off or defend any one person(meaning you, nag).

My intent was get the other christians to Think.

Whether they do or not is bw them and god.

Coonhound said...

Nag,

I rebuked both Boogie and Samantha with God's word.

And also proved much of what you have been trying to Deterministicly Preach.

So, don't be so quick here on this. Read my post.

Steve said...

Coonhound, it's well and good that you approached Boogie as a fellow Christian, although I think a strong case could be made tha s/he dishonors if not profanes the faith. But what I'm saying is that this didn't go far enough. You should have "told Boogie off" in no uncertain terms. His/her conduct rose to THAT level of egregiousness. That's MY opinion, and as I said days before, you know what they say about opinions. :-)

Anonymous said...

Nag. What I find spectacularly funny is the school ground mentality that you need others to rebuke me. You continue to ask for it. None of the parties you are addressing know what I know and a few others know, so if you get them to come after me with words for your needs of protection Nag, do you really think that would change things? Or, is it that you think you can chase us out with these school ground tactics?
