I saw a post from this site and thought I would just say something. Maybe it will help someone else going through the same type entrapment Mr. Garrido and most of us suffer under and that is the temptations of the flesh.
I think it is sad that most people don't recognize that the flesh tempts in all kinds of ways and while most agree that the inability to control ones eating habits isn't nearly as bad as the inability to control oneself from kidnapping and raping someone; the principle remains the same. The individual still cannot control themselves. We have laws to deal with people who aren't able to control themselves in ways that affect others but it shouldn't reduce the sympathy one should feel for those trapped by such temptations. Most of us our lucky that we've had a good enough upbringing that we haven't experience trauma that would cause us to want to rape someone else.
Seeing all the comments here truly makes me think of the story of Jesus and Pharisees who tried to get Jesus to condemn the woman who was caught sleeping with someone. Honestly, how many of you can honestly say you don't have something you can't control yourself in. How many of you sit overweight condemning this man. Have you ever gained control of your own eating habits. Those of you who think you have conquered your flesh, do you walk in pride or humility?
Then there are those of you here defending this man. Didn't Paul, in 1 Corinthians 5 tell them to give the sinner up to satan. A simple google will tell you that your defintion of Luke is so far off. The whole parable is about Jesus going to death and coming back. I say PRAISE GOD it's over for that strong young lady who lived so many years away from her mother and family. I am so grateful mercy touched her and The Waymaker made one for her.

I have 2 little girls. I lived in N. CA when this first happened and I am Jaycee's age. I remember how scared I felt then. I know how terrified, right down to the core of my being, I am now as a mother. How can this happen? Although I know Garrido will never see these comments...I presume, because of the lack of consistant postings, he is going to use these demented and fraudulent posts - as a defense.
He is not insane at all! He needs to be put away for the rest of his life, and solitary confinement in a hole would be ideal. He has damaged one young, beautiful girls life, maybe irreparably.
